Marygrove is very conservative and private catholic school.

I commute to school, I'm not aware of the nightlife.

The financial aid office referred me to visit FastWeb.com because I still owe the school funds for my upcoming second semester. I am on a payment plan.

Overall, Marygrove is a great college. However, it is very costly and I've had major problems with getting in touch with my counselors.

I absolutely love this school. The amount of opportunities I have been given and the wonderful relationships I have been able to form, especially with Professors, has been completely enriching and I would do it over again any day!

Health & Safety:
They work really hard at making sure we feel safe on campus, which is something I appreciate!

The small campus is great for parking demands (unless there is a big event going on, which is seldom)! Permit cost is included in your tuition, so I don't even know how much it is.

There is a small group of students that are very involved in the sports scene at Marygrove. For the most part, they are ignored by the larger student body.

Almost all of my professors have their Doctorates, which means a quality education (most of the time).

There seems to be a nice, small Art Majors community here.

Guys & Girls:
There is quite a diversity on campus, which makes answering this question interesting... There is a normal diversity of the social hierarchy that I've observed just about everywhere, especially in Liberal Arts schools where the umbrella of studies is so broad that anyone and just about everyone could fit under it. This makes for a diverse and interesting social landscape.

Well, it's Michigan, right? So, there's a great diversity in weather, meaning we have all four seasons. However, the winter season is the longest and the majority of that season falls during school months, which can render a lack of productivity amongst students who deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The fall time is a beautiful time on campus because of all the trees changing colors!

There's not a whole lot to do in the close local community, but a good deal within a reasonable distance (15 minute drive, give or take). The safety and parking issues would be my biggest complaints.

Most of the students commute to campus, which makes for a lack of need in the area of campus life vibrancy.

The wireless is not accessible in every area of the campus, and often inaccessible in the most convenient areas, which makes things a little difficult. However, I have never had trouble with the internet on any of the campus computers. There are a good amount of computer labs on campus, which has been really great, especially for those of my friends who don't have computers of their own.

Throughout the city of Detroit there is quite a variety of independently owned restaurants, which keeps things very lively and interesting. However, the majority of those interesting places are not particularly close to our school. The area around our school doesn't really have a "University Town feel," mostly because we are a small, private school. This lends itself to the fact that we don't have much of a selection that is in walking distance, let alone a decently brief driving distance.

Marygrove College is a wonderfully diverse community of students! The large majority of the school population is made up of racial and ethnic "minority" groups. By this, I mean to say that we are mostly Black/African American, then we have smaller pockets of White, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, as well as people from the Arabic nations. It has been a wonderful opportunity for me, being a white female, to take on an identity of a minority in this setting.

The large majority of students live off-campus, but not necessarily in close proximity. The houses and apartments can be relatively cheap here in Detroit, however if you are concerned about safety and quality, it can get pretty pricey. Marygrove is placed in a not-so-great area of Detroit, but it's definitely not in the worst part of the city. I didn't try to get help from the school when I was looking for housing - that probably would have been a good idea. Needless to say, I'm not sure if they are or are not helpful in this area.

Marygrove College graciously applies you for scholarships that are outside of their institution, along with the ones that are, using your FAFSA as the base for submission of application information. It's relatively painless and when you have questions about it, they are quite helpful in figuring out what the issues might be. You do, however, have to be proactive in seeking out answers and it helps a lot if you have the time to come into the office at the school to speak with a representative face-to-face.

I have never heard for any drug use on campus and I have been there for 4 years

Marygrove does not have many degree granting programs but the ones that we do have are phenomenal. Courses arent that rigorous, but the material that is handed to the students by the professor will surely tell you everything you need to know.

Academics are great. The professors seem to really care about the subject that they are teaching. The professors here prepare us for the real world.

Marygrove offers a lot of different scholarships and grant. If you have a 2.7 or higher you will receive a scholarship.

I love the fact that Marygrove gives scholarships to hard working students with high Grade point averages no matter the ACT score.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
