Most students come to Marymount for the opportunities it holds. People who come to campus long to live in New York City, love the arts (acting, dance, design), and dream big. These are the people who make up the majority of MMC's student body. Overall, the experience students gain from Marymount and New York is priceless and one they will not soon forget. Students leave with a strong sense of self, a close circle of friends, a well-rounded education, and a very realistic outlook on life and their career. By living in the city, students are forced to grow up and be mature. They cannot hide away from the "real world" on campus because the real world is their campus.
The college experience at Marymount is not traditional in any sense, but it is life-changing, and if that is what you are looking for, then it will end up being much more valuable than the typical state school experience. At Marymount, you are more than just a student; you are a real person who gets treated like an adult, which, for most students at MMC, is perfect. Though it can be very stressful at times, the four years spent at Marymount will seem to have a special sparkle and magic to them that you will not find anywhere else.
