There are computers in our library, school building, and one in the university center but other than that most students bring their own computer. The library is usually busy but you can usually find a computer pretty quick. Students are given money put on the student account so we can swipe our ids at the printer which is very convenient when your in a hurry. The only issue we have at times is the student portal. Sometimes it may run slow, crash, or made to update at different times of the night but other than that its not too bad. Maryville offers free wifi around the entire campus so its really helpful when you have your own computer and don't want to go in the library if you don't have to print. It is good to bring a computer but it is not required it just makes it easier for some students like those who commute.

Maryville University is a very diverse campus because we have students here from all over the world come to learn at our campus. We hold events that celebrate our different cultures with food, games, and contests while still educating people on the culture so we can break down those culture barriers. Not everyone comes from the same socioeconomic status which is good because you can see and accept the similarities and differences that we have without feeling out classed. We also respect each others religious beliefs by having belief fairs so we can learn about each others religions and we have a belief club where we discuss and share our faiths with each other. We also don't discriminate when it comes to sexual orientation and have a LGBTS club to openly accept students whether they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or straight because Maryville feels that it is necessary to protect and accept all students from any background.

There are many different varieties of restaurants off campus that are a short distance away. I would have to say my favorite places would be Saint Louis Bread Co. and Hunan Empress based off the food being amazing and at a cheaper price. Steak N Shake is also a regular hang out spot for students in the area based off the prices and being open 24 hrs inside. These places are also very close to venders and outlet stores so there is always something to do.

Food is well made... not much change though from year to year though. But the best part is the staff, I have gotten to know them all so well! They are so nice and remember everyone and will have conversations with them about how school is going an such.... they are that extra pick me up!

Health & Safety:
Our public safety is amazing! They are everywhere and they are so nice! I am often the last one in the library when it closes and the officer will walk back with me to my dorm if I want!

It kind of has a community college feel to it, but everyone is very nice to each other.

There really is not much diversity, but the people there are extremely accepting of everyone I have seen so far.

It's Missouri so therefore the weather is random, but it doesn't normally interfere with getting to/enjoying school unless it is snowing badly, but if it does they usually cancel school

Above average. We were rated high on most overperformed schools. Go MU!

Parking on campus is pretty good. there are a lot of different parking lots around campus. The parking is free, but you must have your parking permit or you will get a parking ticket from public safety.

There are not a ton of parties on campus. This school has a quiet policy. To go to the best parties you would have to go to a club, or nebighoring schools like SLUand UMSL.

Maryville is close to the city of St.louis which has a lot to offer, from spas, coffee shops, museums, and clubs. the down fall is that the school is located in one of the richer suburbs of St.louis so the prices at the local stores are higher.

I recieved in financial aid about half of my tutition. I would strongly suggest meeting with the financil aid office and veiwing any other ways to help with paying for school. Filling out the FASFA helps a lot because that where most of your aid comes from.

Getting my international studies major has been an interesting process. It is really a major that is a mixture of different subjects. I like that Maryville has a specific set of classes and the specific international subject that you would like to study. I also, like that you have to either study abroad or take a trip abroad to fulfill the degree. What has been the biggest issue is classes not being taught every semester. there is this one spanish class that I need and it is only taught during the spring semester.

I had a internship but it did not have anything to do with my major. The pay was very poor and I had work harder than what it was really worth. I did Business to Consumer sales at a contracted company for Att. Business to Consumer sales was door to door sales. I worked from 11am to about 7pm monday-friday and 11am to 3pm on saturdays. I was responsible for comparing at&t's Uverse cable to any other cable including plans that a customer with like based on a series of questions. the pay was commission only. there were a ton of team building exercises that we used. The next internship I apply for will be based on my major.

I just transferred to Maryville University and I am totally excited. The staff at Maryville seems to want every student to feel accepted and welcomed. When I was registered for my classes the advisor knew the teachers and was commenting on the classes and the teachers that taught them saying this teacher is really good or this class is interesting and you will learn a lot. I have been to 3 other schools and never have been welcomed like this. I feel likeI will be successful at Maryville. They also, have a lot a services for transfer students to adapt to the campus.

The computers at my school are very nice. they have both Mac and PC computers for whatever prefrence you have. they also have wifi printers for students that bring in their labtops, but there are not enough computers for every student. I rather bring my own laptop just in case I wanna sit in my car and work on things and have any personal stuff on it and not have to worry about deleting it off.

The dorms are well maintained and spacious. There is always something going on around campus and outside of the campus. There is a great social environment around every aspect of the University.
College Freshman 2013-08-05T14:38:33Z
The University is located in the middle of a diverse restaurante location. There is plenty of cheap fast food and chinese take out, as well as enough local restaurants and bars that are fun and reasonably priced.

Health & Safety:
Campus seems to be a nice safe environment. Everyone is helpful and there doesn't seem to be that much threat.
College Freshman 2013-08-05T14:34:04Z
Enough spaces for everyone, but some times there is a bit of a walk to get to classes.

It can be really lame at some times when the R.A's are always hovering on your back about partying and keeping the noise down but if your smart they won't bother you. we have quiet hours that start at like 10p.m.
College Sophomore 2013-07-31T01:22:12Z
There are a lot of events that are scheduled. There is almost always something going on. I would say that C.A.B hosts the funnest events. In like the first week of September we have a campus tradition called The Foam Party. It is a lot of fun! Students can hangout in the Donius University Center and can get free popcorn and snacks and play games. They can also rent movies from the library and hangout there. We have one weight room. It's an okay size but its not very big. The dorm spaces are really nice and huge.
College Sophomore 2013-07-31T01:13:21Z
I'm not really sure about the cost of the transportation cost because a lot of the students on campus have there cars and I usually get a ride from one of my friends, but I do know that they have shuttles that come to the school. I would suggest that you ask res-life about that.
College Sophomore 2013-07-31T01:08:32Z
The school is just fifteen minutes from downtown saint Louis and forest park. Forest park is so beautiful and in the city there is a lot to do, a lot of places to eat, and and historic landmarks in St. Louis. The school is so convenient and very helpful! It's easy to get a hold of your adviser and set up a meeting with them. The teacher's challenged me academically and made me think critically, especially my Biology instructor. What I love most about this campus is that there is always something going on, movies, events, and events set up by students individually.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
