Advice on Finding a Job/Internship Start early, and don’t get discouraged. Make your résumé as soon as possible, and take it to the career services office. They offer free résumé critiques. Post it on MonsterTRAK. Check MonsterTRAK often. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call certain companies. Even more than that, don’t be afraid to contact alumni. MIT has a great alumni network that you should take advantage of. You may be worried that alumni will get annoyed with a lot of people calling and e-mailing them, but the truth is that few students actually do this. Therefore, if you do, you will be showing great initiative.
