Actually, the dining hall is open from 7:15 in the morning until 7:30 at night on weekdays. That's nearly 12 hours. Additionally, the pub, the other main food venue, is open until midnight. Hours are a little more limited on the weekends, but you really can't say that the overall hours are limited.
First off, Glar isn't open the entire time between 715 and 730. Second, most college students stay up till midnight or one in the morning. So if you want to eat in the last 5 hours that you are awake, your only option is the Pub, which has limited offerings.
