Advice

  • Check CAPS regularly, but also check local newspapers and Web sites. Craigslist.org has a site for most major cities, and it’s free to post, so tons of companies do. If there is a specific field you are interested in, do the research as to what major companies are involved, and look at their Web sites for any postings. McGill itself does not have a counselor who will help you, but CAPS will have lots of Web sites and phone numbers to check out. Also, if you have made any close connections with professors, they are good people to ask for the lowdown on any positions, especially ones they have a personal connection to.
