McKendree University has a widely diverse campus. People of different ethnic groups, religions, and sexualities are well-represented. There are quite a few international or foreign exchange students around campus from many places, including China, England, Ireland, Japan, and Spain, just to name a few. Ethnic minorities show a promise in what they take part in and determination to succeed in college.

Students show at least a fair level of tolerance toward those of minorities of any group. People understand they come from different ways of life, cultures, and belief systems. All in all, the school community wants to be respectful of unique backgrounds and appreciates the variety of differences present through numerous cultures from around the world.
