Students should begin searching for an apartment early; the best time would be either the semester before they plan on moving into an apartment or no later than when school lets out in early May-to gain a better chance of finding a better apartment at a cheaper, inexpensive rate. There is also the possibility of searching for a two-bedroom apartment and splitting the cost of monthly rent with a friend.

Students can rent their own apartment in the Lebanon area, rent a room in someone's home, or rent an apartment in nearby O'Fallon and Mascoutah areas.
