There is not much to see at the Bronx campus. This campus is located in a commercial complex and surrounding residential complexes mostly consisting of high rise apartment buildings. For most of the attractions and shopping, you would have to hop on a train or bus and go to New York City for the ultimate experience. There are also a number of great museums in NYC.

We are all New Yorkers and are familiar with the various seasons. However, the college usually closes when there is a snow storm. Closures are usually posted online and on the school's telephone answering service. Otherwise, the usual schedules are followed.

The Greek/non-Greek situation is non existent as far as I know.

I take my own snack and lunch to cut costs, therefore I have never had a dining experience on campus. I am very thrifty.

As I have mentioned before, I do not dorm but live with my young family. I have been living at my place of residence before starting Mercy, therefore I cannot comment on off campus housing.

I have never had an experience with drug usage on campus. I go to Mercy to get an education so that I can provide for my family. I do not drink, I do not smoke, I do not do drugs. All I want is to graduate on top of my class with my teaching degree. I have never noticed any drug usage on campus, and I can assure you, if I do, I will not hesitate to report same.

I have never had an issue to find parking when I visit the Bronx campus. Finding a parking spot was always possible, even if it is not as near as I anticipated.

I have never dormed therefore I am unable to give a fair feedback.

Most of my classes were done online and the few visits I have made to the Bronx campus have been uneventful. The security guards were very professional and helpful. The students using the lounge area were not loud.

Health & Safety:
The campus I attend in the Bronx is a building that is share with other business. To enter the premises, you must go through a security at the gate and to get into the buildings, you must show your ID to go through security. What I like most is that there are usually three security guards at the main entrance therefore that gives a better sense of security. Students are usually well behaved and respectful and I feel a general sense of safety once I am on campus. I have never experiences any major conflicts or issues on campus.

I presently study secondary mathematics education, but work full-time elsewhere (not in the same field). My greatest challenge is to get my field work hours in every semester. For each class, I am required to do 10 hours of field work which can be very tight, as I have to work around my job, school and the field work experience.

There are a number of academic programs offered at my college, which are, information technology, nursing, medical assisting, education, educational leadership, accounting, business and criminal justice.
I mainly focus on education since it is my area of study, and I really do not have any major issues with the program or the people I work with. The registration process is fairly straightforward and the workload, though at times rigorous, is not impossible. On campus (especially indoors), there are several provisions for students to study or work together in groups in a quiet environment.

Trains and buses are easily accessible and shuttle buses are provided at the bus stop and train stop to take students back to campus. Transportation is therefore not a issue.

I am a mature adult with a small family; therefore I am not involved in much campus life. I can however, comment on the student center, the library and green spaces. My college provides a fairly good environment for the library and student center where students can gain access to much needed assistance and support. However, the campus that I attend is in the city, therefore the lush green space is very limited.

I enjoy working with the professors. Many of the classes I have done so far are online, but the availability of the professors to answer your questions and give feedback is phenomenal. The professors seem to be interested in our success and dreams and are willing to support you whenever necessary.

I am pretty happy with my program. I presently study secondary mathematics education. If I had a choice, I would have chosen a more prestigious college which gives its students more support in job placements and internships.

I do not live on campus I am a commuter.
College Senior 2013-11-23T22:45:25Z
I do not live on campus so I cannot say I know but I am sure there are tons of students who take part in doing some kind of drugs to fit in.

The best package is the one where you get all the aid you can get. It occurs when your parents salary is really low. It also pays to do well in high school to receive scholarships. I do have loans out but they are at minimum. Some people who go to private schools, leave with $20,000 plus of loans out for undergraduate alone.

I take the bus to the train to get to the Manhattan campus which is about an hour. When I went to Bronx campus, it took me two hours to get there. I had to take the bus to the f train to lexington ave than the 6 train to East Tremont and the shuttle bus to class. Luckily, it was only once a week and the professor was worth the commute.

I like it. I am not as active on campus as I would like to be but I enjoy this school.
College Senior 2013-11-23T22:39:22Z
Its NY so I do not recall class being closed because of the weather since I been at Mercy. When it rains classes does seem a little blah. At St.Francis I do recall receiving two text messages when it was a bad snow storm.

Not a part of nightlife since I do not dorm.
College Senior 2013-11-23T22:36:45Z
There many different people I have meet. I meet a girl from Palenstine, a Jamaican, Guyanese etc. I love meeting new people because its NY and I never was into talking to just one type of race. This school is acceptance to all kinds of people regardless of your background.

The Manhattan campus has two floors and the library is pretty small. Students hang out on the stairs and hallways. We do have a small coach area to relax. There are tons of campus events but I usually work the days they are held. I took a class at the Bronx campus and the hallways are really huge. The library is an average size bigger than Manhattan. There is a caferteria at the Bronx campus. I been to the financial aid office a few times and they are quick.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
