Guys & Girls:
Most students dress in whatever they feel comfortable in, wether it be jeans or sweatpants and everything in between. I have met some very nice people and also some people who are very to themselves. I hate met some of my best friends here and I know I will be in contact with them after we leave college. There are certain school events that are better than others, and at these I am able to meet with people I normally would not talk to. I enjoy the campus life, but I do wish I attended a bigger school sometimes because the athletic events really aren't that big of a deal here.

I believe I received as much as colleges normally can give for someone in a single-parent home. I still struggle to pay my tuition, like most other college students and I wish there was more help available. I do wish student financial services could be more understanding for various financial situations, but I know they need to stay after their money.

There is a good mixture between people who do and don't drink, and no one has really been peer pressured into drinking (at least not that I have witnessed or heard about). I do not think the drinking on campus is too bad. Most people know how to handle themselves as well.

Housing is expensive but where I live isn't very far from all of my classes, and it doesn't seem to be too warn down. Besides the price of housing I am satisfied.

There are people from all over the world among students and professors. There are people from Ireland, Poland, India, Australia and much more. There are people of all sexual orientations and everyone is accepting of who they are. Even though the school is Catholic, there are all types of religions from atheism to Buddhism.

They are good about most things but we are not allowed to have anything for protection. If it can be used as a weapon it is not allowed. I like having something with me at night to feel safe and since I cannot have anything to protect myself I do not feel safe. However, Police and Safety will drive me home if I call them if I feel unsafe.

Parking can sometimes be a hassle but you can usually find a spot. The permit is free which is great. Not very often do I hear about fines. If someone is fined it is for something that is potentially very dangerous. Typically the fines are reasonable.

They have a public bus that runs every day except Monday. It is usually pretty good about pick up times but sometimes the bus is extremely late. I have been stranded for two hours before but the bus eventually came to pick me up.

I have received a fair amount of scholarships. I have not had to pay more than $10,000 a year thus far. The financial aid office sends out award letters that show how the scholarships are split up in the year. It is very helpful when you are trying to figure out how much you need to pay each semester. They are very good about keeping things up-to-date.

Erie, PA is very cold, rainy and snowy. The weather is hateful for most of the year, and classes almost never get cancelled.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe on campus, but the security force on campus is very small!

Guys & Girls:
N/A. I've met some really nice people, but I'm in a serious relationship and have been focused on classes. Also I'm quiet and keep to myself, so making friends is tough.

The professors are wonderful and are active in their fields. The curriculum is hard, but hands on. Since the school has changed from trimesters to semesters the workload is heavier because they are trying to figure out how to set the classes up.
There are some but I haven't been able to recieve anything extra to help for extra classes.

During this time of transition its been hard to find time for everything, yet that isn't the professor's fault. it will take time for everything to settle and start working again.

Guys & Girls:
Mercyhurst University is a well dressed school. One of our biggest majors is Fashion
College Freshman 2013-09-28T17:39:11Z
The drug use is not that huge at Mercyhurst University, but many students drink alcohol like it is water on the weekends
College Freshman 2013-09-28T17:37:10Z
Dorms are small
The food is not always promising
The cost is outrageous

My major is Forensic Science and I do plan on doing Interships. Because I would love to do a hands on event that will give me an idea of what the job is really about. and It will show me things that I will soon be expecting to do while on the job. My only concern is to where to start signing up for interships.

Our campus is strict when it comes to our Campus student's safety. Which I like because I love to feel safe.

The local town is very nice and well kept. The school is surrounded by local neighbor hoods with a diverse collection of ages. There is also two private school located fairly close to the school for younger children. Over all it is a very safe quiet area that is comfortable.

There was a lady at Mercyhurst University the North East Campus named Colleen. She was so helpful and pretty much got everything settled for me. I didn't have money to buy books for the term and she helped me get an extra $400 in grants from North East Campus. Now I can stay in school and get my education.

I commute to school, which is one option for students. The down side would be the cost of gas. I live about 30 miles away from campus, so the drive in the winter is long, as well as summer/spring/fall time. For the younger students, living on campus would be their best bet at Mercyhurst University the North East Campus.

It really just depends on where you live. The new co-ed dorms on campus are great. The all-female and all-male have more that you could hope for. On campus apartments vary in quality. Some heat doesn't work. Some are more worn than others. You'll survive with it, they just aren't the best in the world. Social atmosphere is great in all places.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
