With the great student-to-professor ratio and the beautiful campus, it’s hard not to be happy at Mercyhurst. Classes are small, so getting to know the people and professors is easy, which makes classes more enjoyable. However, for many MC students, one drawback to the College is the weather. Although the weather at Mercyhurst can be harsh and wear down some students, you can usually find ways to get through the long winter and even enjoy it. Students tend to complain about the weather, but many times all it takes is a glimpse around campus, and they can't help but stop and admire the beautiful and fresh Lake Erie snow.
MC students have plenty of things to do around campus. The SAC (Student Activities Council) events on campus are well planned and well attended. The events are fun and keep students busy. Also, if you like theatre, consider being a part of the Mercyhurst College student-run musicals, which are always fun and present students with a chance to learn about theatre and meet new people. If you like to party, you can usually find perfect places in the city, or you can get your friends together for a small get-together in the dorms or on-campus apartments. Stop by any of the cafés for a really great cup of coffee, or meet all of your friends for a movie night at the PAC on Wednesdays. Have a study session, or some alone time, in the library, or plop yourself down on the comfy couch in the Great Room. Take a side trip to Presque Isle and enjoy the wonderful sunset on the Lake Erie beach. The Mercyhurst opportunities are endless!
