Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Miami University has taken great strides to ensure the safety of its students. There are many safety services at the students’ disposal, including emergency call boxes and a police force that is on patrol 24 hours. Another great service is the "door-to-door" van, which is always available to students in need of a ride home at any time.

The dorms are really safe as well. All students need a personal identification card to enter their residential hall, ensuring that non-residents do not get into the building. This has cut down on thefts and violence, which were already low to begin with. There are emergency buttons located all over campus in case of a crisis, and the University also sends out alerts if a crime or emergency situation happens on campus or in the immediate area. The Oxford and MU police patrol the campus and surrounding area regularly and are very helpful if needed. Overall, Miami University and the town of Oxford are very safe for students.

Campus Safety

I feel extremely safe on Miami University's campus. The only time I don't feel safe is when crossing the street because some people like to press on their brakes at the last minute.

Very Safe

The campus safety is pretty good. I never feel unsafe anywhere i go. The Miami police patrol at all times, day and night. Sometimes it gets a little much with 20-30 cop cars uptown at nights.
