College Prowler Take

There’s an old saying that goes, “You can make a big school small, but you can’t make a small school big.” The overall experience at Miami University of Ohio is different for every student, but most seem to have enjoyed their time here, and most will agree that the former part of this statement is representative of Miami. Miami is not a huge school, but it is large enough to feel like a big university without being overwhelming. It is essential to find a niche when you arrive, otherwise you may get lost in the shuffle. One of the best ways to determine if you will like Miami is to take into consideration what is important to you in a school and to really weigh your options. Visit the campus and ask questions. We are talking about the next four or five years of your life, here. If Miami does not fulfill an important need you have, it probably isn’t the school for you, and there are people here who feel like they don’t belong.

Nobody enjoys school 100 percent of the time, but the students at Miami have a plethora of options, both social and academic, at their doorsteps. At Miami, you cannot be afraid to try new things, talk to new people, or grow as an individual. This is true no matter where you decide to attend college. Overall, the most important fact to take away from this guidebook is that most students feel that they made the right decision in attending Miami.

I love Miami, and I am so glad I go here. Initially, I was worried about being from out-of-state because everyone else seemed to have high school friends, but, after a week or so into school, it didn’t matter anymore.

I have had some really fun and influential experiences on campus. There have been times though when I have wished that I went away to school, but then I would just be lonely without my family and friends close by. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I have made some really good new friends, but those that have been there for you forever will never be replaced.

There are times I think I can’t stand it any more, like when you’re trying to schedule and take finals at the same time, but then I think about the summer and how much I miss being at school. It’s my home.
