Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Oxford’s weather touches on the best and the worst of all four seasons. Students bring their warmest and coolest clothing to prepare for the ambiguous weather. One day you will see people walking to class in shorts and sandals, and the next they will be bundled up in sweaters while fresh icicles drip from the trees. One way some students make the most out of the snowy winters is to “borrow” trays from the dining halls and sled down the hills near campus. The hill on North Quad behind Flower Hall is the best for this activity. There are also some great hills on Western Campus.

Whatever the season, Miami’s campus is always beautiful. With heated sidewalks, it is a little, but not much, easier to avoid falling on your way to class in winter. However, your best bet is to just walk through the snow. The heat of summer only becomes really terrible if you aren’t in an air-conditioned dorm. Fall and spring are beautiful. Personal preferences determine how pleasant—or unpleasant—a student considers the weather to be at any given time, but if you like to experience all four seasons in one location, Miami is the place to be.

Sometimes Sunny...

Southern Ohio offers a wind, rain and the occasional sunny day. But when it is sunny students definitely take advantage of the good weather; everyone's outside and out and about. Rainy, windy and cloudy days make up the majority of the weather here but moderate snow and the warm weather in march make Miami worth it!

Snow

It usually snows quite a bit, which I love, and in the past 4 years we've had at least one day of cancelled classes per year for snow, which is always super exciting. It's nice because you get a little of the cold winter, but not so much that it's intolerable.

Always Beautiful

Oxford gets all seasons, but it usually stays fairly warm for the majority of the school year.
