Tuition & Financial Aid:
Make Sure to Meet Deadlines – The education I am getting is priceless. Therefore, the value of my education is worth all the tuition I have paid because in the long run it will help me achieve my goals and progress in life with a secure job and college education. I really like how affordable my colleges school tuition is. The Financial aid process is really very simple and easy to do. There are many deadlines for having forms filled out and papers turned in which is why it is very important to keep these dates written down so you can be sure to have everything submitted on time to meet there deadlines and to ensure that everything will go smoothly as far as receiving your financial aid on time. My experiences with the financial aid office have always been above and beyond what I expected. The staff are all very helpful and care about you receiving your financial aid on time. They also give great advice as far as things you should/should not do that could mess your financial aid up which most people won't tell you. For example, if you take a class and want to drop it...they will advise you not to do this because even though financial aid has already paid for that class, you will be responsible for giving that money back even though it was distributed to you. Tips for getting financial aid at MSTC would be to meet with a financial aid staff member and talk about first if your eligible and second what kind of aid you would qualify for. Then the next steps are easy, you just go online to MSTC school website, click on financial aid, follow the directions and click submit!

Facities Are Good – the library is good, the gym is ok, the weightroom is ok as well, the student center is very good, but overall its good.

Never Taking One – I have never taking an online course at midstate, but I have had to do assignments and tests online and there are no issues that I had with it.

Academic Program – the business program is a very good program because of the great teachers there in that program.

Computer Labs – there could be more computer labs or they could open more often for student use.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Course Worth – I believe that the education that I am receiving is well worth the financial aid I am receiving.

Professor/Student Relationship – It is a lot harder to interact with the professor or instructor with online courses because you usually have to wait for them to respond. But, I found that if I get stuck and need the professors help I will just e-mail them and work on my other coursework in the mean time so it works out well.

Still Don't Know What to Think – I took a few online courses this semester and was nervous because I had never done any before. The classes seem to have very little layout and the teachers seem to take over a week to grade anything. I don't care much for not having a teacher that I can get a quick answer from since it takes over a day for the online teachers to respond to questions and emails. I sometimes forget assignments until the last minute because I am not physically in the class and still am not sure how to correctly respond to discussion questions. In the future, I am only going to take classes that meet in person and have more hands on contact.

Career Services at MSTC tries to do a good job, but I feel they are lacking a bit in getting out the word about their services and what they can do to help students.

Diversity Driven – Mid-State Technical College offers a great diversity program and they have a wide range of students from African American, Hmong, American Indians, Caucasion and many others. They also share cultural experiences through the diversity programs that they offer.

Diversity Project – I love the Diversity Project that they have put in place in the past couple of years. For instance, this last year they allowed students to get discounted tickets to the movie "The Help" and then they had special discussions about the movie. They also had a speaker on the Amish and she was great and has been seen on shows like 20/20 and has been on with Diane Sawyer. They are having next week a personal account of the Holocaust through the eyes of men that were there. They really do a great job in providing a variety of topics for everyone and seek to share diversity.

True Care and Concern for Student – From the first day I walked through the doors of Mid-State my life changed in a very positive way. The staff has done nothing but go out their way to make sure my accommodations were met. I've been there over a year now and enjoying every minute of it.

Good Resources – I feel like the technology available at school is more than sufficient to meet my needs as a student. It is nothing stunning or more than expected, but is adequate, and has good service.

Could Use Better Choices – Overall, the school is ok. They were able to get me into the RN classes quicker than other WI tech schools, but I felt like there could be better options for clinicals, bigger area hospitals for more opportunities to get a feel for what area to practice in. Better, faster communication by some of the nursing instructors would a great improvement as well.

I think Online courses can work for certain people. Alot of people need the hands on experience that you do not get with online classes.

Mid- State – I like how the teachers can connect with their students since the classes are small. That means they can take their time with each student while class is in session. This really helps everyone in the long run.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
More Scolarships – I think i would be nice to have more general scholarships, it seems like most of them are for medical programs
College Senior 2011-01-27T00:29:35Z
Online Resources – I take classes online and I think the resources they have available are very good. MidState uses Blackboard for main communications in online classes and they do have some downtime but I personally have never had it affect me. You can also check your student email for updates.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
