Guys & Girls:
Male and female student that attend my school are very attractive people. Usually with attractive looking people you get the stuck-up attitude and peppiness with it right? At Mid-America, its nothing like that. Attractive people here are so kind and nice to all people no matter what you may think your attractive score is. The majority of the student here are very much into their studies. No matter what you attend their will be that group of students who are more into partying and what not but at Mid-America there are no parties to attend so that group is very small in number. Our campus is known for students getting engaged before spring, so their might be some students that attend here just to find their soul mate. Student here are pretty appropriate in their dress attire. There still are some people who do like to show skin. In the social life, It is not hard to get into a group. Most students are kind and will invite anyone in. All you got to do is make a little affect to meet those group members. The relationships here are mostly healthy and respectful. That goes for relationships between students or students and professioner or students and school staff.

All professors really care how you are doing and help you get through the program in the time frame you want. The classes are not difficult, but still a challenge to get you into your major.

There is always a parking spot close to a building or it is all in walking distance. Walking you can get anywhere in 5 minutes or less.

We are a Christian School. "Nightlife" is fun without drinking and partying.

The workload is not that bad, the curriculum is very similar to other universities, and the biology department is very good.
I haven't come across that many scholarship/job opportunities, however.

In the city, there are many things to do for ages 18 and up. There aren't many clubs that I know of for underage students, though. Since MidAmerica is a religious university, there isn't as many parties, but there are still some.

There are buses that run around Olathe, but driving is the best option, I personally think. The parking on campus can be very frustrating with the limited parking and off-campus students.

I've never lived on campus. But I've heard tons of stories. It's incredibly difficult to get off campus, for one, and two I hear that they are just a difficult place to live. Just seems like they are forced to live there.

The gen ed's here are really not difficult at all. It's more so once you get into your upper level classes that things get more challenging. The professors for the most part, are great. The registration process is absolutely terrible. It's completely unorganized, and a very frustrating and stressful process. I have had a challenge getting registered for classes almost every semester and it's just awful. It's not necessarily the staff, of course they are all very nice people and they work hard, I know. I just don't think they have enough people. Getting off campus is one of the hardest things students face as well. You have to live in a dorm at MNU if you're under 22 or if you don't live with family. Which to me is absolutely ridiculous. They're doing those students a terrible disservice by not letting them see what the "real world" is like before graduating.

It's mostly the athletes that drink. Myself being one of them, but I really don't enjoy that scene much. I feel like the students who are non-athletes really, really look down on those students who do drink, and being at a Christian school, well to me, that doesn't seem very Christian. The non-athlete students can be VERY judgmental. Not all of them, no, but the majority of them are. On campus, drinking and drugs is pretty much unheard of. The school has a very strict dry campus policy.

The specific programs in the school are great, the nursing program for example, is very challenging and I feel like I'm learning a ton. The workload is heavy, but doable, the new Sante Fe building is awesome, and our lab is amazing. We are, unfortunately, almost completely separated from the rest of the school and that kind of stinks. I almost never see anyone from school outside of those students that are in the nursing program with me. Overall however, I feel very fortunately to have been accepted into the program and am so far very happy with where it's taking me.

There are plenty of restaurants around campus. If you don't like one restaurant, there will be another one out there.

Since MidAmerica is a Christian college we don't have much trouble with that. There may be some but never seen any.

The saying in Kansas is "If you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes it will change." The weather can be really annoying sometimes, but you get used to it. Actually, it's kind of nice. If it's raining you know it's going to stop pretty soon. You never can't count on the weather man, but he's never off by much.

There's a pretty good amount of stuff to do off campus. Most of the time I like go bowling or miniature golf. We have a couple movie theaters around here so I go couple times a month. My favorite movie and action and thriller. There are plenty of restaurants around here so you can't go hungry. All in all, it's a really great place to live.

The athletes that attend MNU only go their to play their desired sport and nothing more. The athletes that this mostly apply to are football players. The other athletes not in this sport are rarely that way. they are mostly kind and want to be at the school for the education, the sport and the spiritual atmosphere. I have not seen athletics get very involved in other events on campus that have nothing to do with their sport. All the sport teams are great players how ever. I believe we have a strong group of men and women who are very talents in their desired sport. All student seem to enjoy going to the games and like most of the athletes. We have school spirit no doubt!!

The winter weather does not make the campus experience any different then summer time when you live on campus, but if you live off campus that is a different story. The snow can be a pain to try to drive though to get to the school and many end up missing classes during winter due to the bad weather unless they live on campus. When on campus, the facility makes sure to clean off the walk ways so all students can easily get to their classes and to the campus center for their meals. I believe the school is doing the best they can during bad weather to keep the campus experience positive for all their students.

The dorm living experience was alright. I was in the freshman dorms even though I am a transfer student, so I didn't really like being with all the freshman. The dorm size was wonderful, its lengthy so it gives a feeling like its bigger then it really is. The RAs aren't trained every well in all they should know to help the freshman out on how their college works and were to find all the sources they need. It is so easy to socialize with the people in your dorm high and even building. They always have events going on to keep the socializing going between students. The cost is high but its worth it mostly. It is SOOO convenient because if your working on campus you never got to worry about being late and you don't have to waste gas and time on driving back and forth. Getting a dorm mate and dorm is so easy. The housing person knows how to match students up well and never misses a person.

The facility is so nice to everyone that comes onto the campus no matter if they are a student who attends there or not. They are there for assistance and are ready to help at anytime. I love running into facility member on the campus because they are so kind and easy to talk to. They are high quality individuals.

Cost is not all that bad. I live in an apartment of 6 girls and the cost is split between all of us.

The computer labs are not usually full, but even when they are we always have the extra laptops that everyone is allowed to use. WiFi is always avaliable and is awesome!

The campus is strict on opposite genders visiting in the dorms. It is a christian campus so they do not allow opposite genders have romantic time together alone in a room. When lets say a male is visiting a female friend in the girl dorms, he must only come in during open dorm time and leave when open dorm time is over. Which means no sleep overs. And when he is in the girl's room, the door must be open at all times. The open dorm times increase the older you get. As a freshman, you have less open dorm time a week and at night, freshman have to check in with their RA and have a curfew of 1am. Older student do not have a curfew. They have a policy of students have to attend the Chapels which are little church services every week. You get points for each chapel you attend. By the end of the semester, you must have gotten 40 chapel points. 20 chapel points if your off campus. This policy is designed well. It is not hard to attend the amount for the semester. If you have a busy schedule, they will work with you and get you a good amount of point that you can do.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
