Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are 27 fraternities and sororities at MTSU, and they all play a large role in maintaining activity on campus. Every week, there seems to be something going on that is Greek-sponsored, such as mechanical-bull rodeos, bake offs, car washes, trick-or-treating for families on campus, fun fairs, and intramural tournaments. The fraternities are primarily located on Greek Row, which is on the east side of campus along Northfield Boulevard. The newer buildings display the letters of each frat and provide housing for members. The sororities are located in Cummings and Corlew halls.

At least one MTSU fraternity has been accused of unethical actions in the past and has been threatened with complete expulsion. Fraternity members were also suspected of stealing nearly all issues of the student newspaper that featured an article about two frats being behind on their rents. MTSU sororities, on the other hand, have been active in a positive way on campus. Overall, students who are in a Greek organization generally love the experience, while those who aren’t involved have no desire to join. Greek life is visible on campus and, except for a few minor exceptions, is positive.

Greek Life Is There

Greek life is optional at MTSU, I would not even know we had a greek scene if it were not for the banners around the KUC and when SGA elections are held. I've actually never met anyone from a fraternity or sorority at MTSU, so I guess they need to do a better job about getting the word out about their existence.

Greek Life at MTSU

They are much involved on campus. Everyone seem to get along and are very dedicated to what they do. There are greek houses. They are the life of the parties. I haven't really heard anything bad about our greeks. Most people who are a greek are usually the ones to win homecoming or other student elections.
