College Prowler Take
Nightlife in Murfreesboro is pretty mild, and many students complain that there isn’t anything to do in this town. However, it depends on what you want to do and how hard you are willing to look. Most of the social activity takes place Monday through Friday because so many students go home for the weekend. In fact, there seems to be a keg party every day of the week, and many students are able to schedule afternoon classes around their hectic party lives. While campus is more active during the week, there are always parties on the weekends, as well as bars to frequent. Most Murfreesboro bars can be described as dives, but this is not a negative term. Many students actually enjoy dive bars and find them quaint and personable. Students get to know their bartenders and are loyal to the bars they patron.
Nashville, about a 40-minute drive, offers a much wider variety of clubs, bars, and concerts. The drive can be a problem, so a designated driver is a must if you plan to visit any of the bars there, such as Graham Central Station. There are also plenty of options for students under the legal drinking age because many places in Nashville have an 18-and-older policy.

I can’t tell you much about the clubs because I don’t really go to any. The only bar around here I can even stand is Liquid Smoke. But it’s not really a true bar—I’m not sure what you’d call it. |
