Financial Aid

I received financial aid based on my gpa. As I stated in my last open response, MTSU does a pretty good job of offering financial aid based on gpa and financial need, rather than one or the other. I did have to keep an eye on the process just because computer problems would create issues such as not showing previously received paperwork, but other than that, the financial aid process isn't bad. To get a scholarship, I would keep at least a 3.5 gpa, the higher, the better award you receive. I would also watch my pipeline account for mssgs about required papers.

Dress

At MTSU everybody had their own kind of style , no one dresses the same, everybody is very unique

A Definate Must

Since being enrolled in MTSU, I opted out of on-campus housing. The dorms are stiff and depressing. But the good things is, there are tons of off-campus housing oppurtunities. The prices are right and you can live in the apartments throughout the summer. There are even a number of complexes were you can walk to campus.

The down fall would be the fact that your living in a community of strictly college students. I can get a little crazy at times (parties, loud music, etc.) So if you like peace and quite, look for a house. It's definately affordable if you can find roomates.

A Varied People

We are a highly varied populous. There are many different cultures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds.

Horible

I hated living on campus. my roommate was a total freak who woke me up at all hours of the nights. everything was old and falling apart

Transportation

It is hard at Middle Tennessee State University trying to get a parking sopt.

Parking Is Okay

It's free to park, but you should get to campus a minimum of 30 minutes before your class starts. You are either going to have to walk a long way to class or wait for the shuttle that has no distinct pick up times.

Horrible

There are very few options and the prices are outrageous. I suggest bringing a packed lunch along.

Many Different Looks

I couldn't even begin to describe the different kinds of people on campus. We have hipsters, preps, goths, rednecks, and hippies. You name a subculture of people and we've got it.

Unimpressive Display

In my short time at MTSU I have not been all that impressed with the Greek like there. The only things that have really been said is about the parties.

Apts Are Way Expensive

there are tons of apartments to pick from, but they are all extra expensive

Need More Tech

the computer lab is always full, and so is the library. We need more computers

Heart Warming and Caring School

Unique thing about my school is that we are very big on habitat for humanity. we have helped with the hatian disaster about the earthquakes in haiti. We have donated money, clothing e.t.c. I believe we are one of the most caring and open hearted schools in the united states. We also have alot of programs that can get students involved that way they don't feel left behind.

The Girls and Guys Are Interesting

there are alot of fraternity boys than girls. The students are pretty outgoing and fun. You wouldn't feel left out. It is recommanded to join an organization. The students are diverse and you easily meet at least one person that went to school with in high school.

Lots of Fun

Middle tennessee State sets off a good atmosphere it is Murfreesboro tennessee and it is pretty big. It looks like a city. like a pre historic city with beautiful house that surround the campus. The campus are pretty prehistoric as well is fairly a party school and lively and diverse. It is 3 hrs. away university of chattanooga.

Library

My school has the best library. It is very open and there is plenty of space for everyone to come and study. There is even a section for the community to come and check out books.

Campus With a Lot to Offer.

Murfreesboro is a college town. There are plenty of places to get food, even on a college budget. There are many coffee shops around campus and many apartments to choose from. There is Jazz Fest in May and several other festivals to choose from throughout the year. The Square is right down from the campus with many bars when you want to party or when you want to relax.

Students Looks Etc.

There are a variety of students at MTSU. You can find anything from red neck to rocker. There are all sorts of different races and ethnicities as well as groups and clubs for diverse students. I believe that theres a niche for everyone here at MTSU.

Most Multicultral University Ove Seen

MTSU has thousand of students that are all of different age groups, religions, and ethnicity. Over all the university works very hard at being cultrually diverse i believe.

MTSU Is Safe!

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is a relatively safe campus. I have heard of some crime on campus, for example, drug dealing/use. I have also heard of some thefts. Personally I have not experienced any crime or know personally of anyone being harmed. If you just use common sense, you'll be fine. Lock your car or dorm door and use a buddy system at night. Also, we have police that drive around which always makes one feel safe.

Safety and Security on Campus

I have never felt unsafe on campus at Middle Tennessee State University during the day. I do get a bit creeped out at when i have to go out to my car after dark, but the campus provides escorts if you are uneasy about walking alone. Overall, i would say the the campus is very safe.

Lots of Choice

MTSU has a lot of choices. They have several dining halls, food courts, and a very reasonable meal plan with flex dollars. They have a variety of restaurants in the food courts including Chick-fillet and chinese food. Also, they have healthy options for health concious students. They even have special things at their Rec Center like strawberry protein shakes. It's perfect after a hard work out.

I’m not a big fan of Murfreesboro,...

I’m not a big fan of Murfreesboro, but I really do like MTSU. I like the people I’ve met here, and it’s been a good experience. I think I’m where I need to be. There are good students and faculty members here—you just have to know where to look for them.

I don’t find the school very...

I don’t find the school very challenging. The departmental organization is horrific. No one has any idea what anyone else is doing, and you’ll spend most of your time running from one place to another with re-done paperwork because someone lost it, didn’t send it through the proper channels, or gave you the wrong paperwork in the first place. There is a great lack of communication among the administration, which makes it extremely difficult to get anything done.

The buses to get around campus are everywhere, which is nice.
