While there is no outward pressure to engage in any illegal activity, being in Vermont makes it so there is little else to do sometimes. Hard drugs are hard to find, but weed is prevalent amongst the student body. That being said it is not a safety issue and enforcement is pretty strict. Alcohol is obviously part of any Midd weekend and enforcement centers around safety primarily.

They try to be diverse with their food and most of them are very tasty. Most people like it and they can move from Proctor, known to have healthier options, Ross, pizza, burgers, and other less healthier foods, and Atwater, the gourmet options. There are also certain dinners hosted by various student clubs that offer different kinds of food. Getting food is not a problem here.

Four seasons are a norm at Middlebury but these do not affect the learning experience unless a person gawks at the beautiful foliage and forgets to complete homework.

The three dining halls offer varied food choices at every meal. Because the student body is small the food is more like a home cooked meal than anything overly mass produced. And a set meal plan makes it simple!

Transportation to and from the airport is extremely costly, and Burlington is hard to get to without your own car.

While I almost always know of something happening Wednesday - Saturday, it's usually only one party a night. Most of the parties are pretty much the same, too. They're giant grind fests that are hot and sweaty, unless you go to an Atwater suite, in which case there is still grinding. However, Atwater parties are usually smaller and they have lots of free alcohol in the fridges. Regardless of the limitations, you can pretty much always find something to do and I've had plenty of fun in my short time at Midd. It's definitely a work hard, play hard kind of school.

I am currently studying pre-med and trying to major in economics as well. The professors are fantastic and although the material is difficult and challenging, there is nothing else I would rather do.

The athletic teams here are REALLY good. Most sports aren't very well attended, with the exception of hockey, but the teams are consistently some of the best in NESCAC and even the country.

All majors are under the college, so it is easy to get into your desired major as long as you do the requisites.

I'm on the pre-med track and a likely biology major, but every department that I have heard of is fantastic. With such a small student:teacher ratio, you get time to do the things you want in your field.

The dining halls are good, but they can be a hit-or-miss. There are always options regardless, though, between sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc. Off campus restaurants are surprising me good!

Parking for upperclassmen is great. Most times you can park right outside your dorm. For Freshmen and Sophomores the parking situation is far worse than that of the upperclassmen, but by no means bad.

The town's restaurants are surprisingly high quality, but they are so few that eating out can get repetitive.

Health & Safety:
Public Safety is available when necessary, as well as Health services. The town and state police do not have jurisdiction on campus, so Pub-Safe is the primary means of security. And, quite frankly, it's Vermont. There are no real threats to the student body.

Guys & Girls:
We can't keep our hands off each other! Most guys here have a sculpted body, and the girls here are fit with pretty faces. Although the majority of the people here are white and preppy looking, that doesn't define who they are as a person. We also have quite a decent number of internationals, and it seems like we've gotten the best of all over the world.
Everyone here is down to earth, but the umbrella characteristic is that we're all friendly and genuinely nice. Going back to the real world is always terrifying because you get reminded that not everyone in the world is physically beautiful or hot, while simultaneously being very clever with a unique yet nice personality.

Guys & Girls:
I feel that the "attractiveness" reviews are very skewed and without proper context since most students have only their high schools for comparison.
Middlebury students are not unattractive, especially if you consider notoriously unattractive schools like Harvard and MIT. But A/A+ is a bit inflated. I've been to a few other campuses after graduating as part of grad school functions and there are far more attractive and sexually driven campuses that don't receive nearly the same grade.
Your "type" also matters I suppose. There are many students athletes that are in shape (the % of students in athletics at small school like Midd is quite large. Almost half of all students I would say.), which may contribute to this idea of attractiveness. However, the North Face/Sperry bros and Uggs/Spandex girls become a blur as there are so many that fall under this category. If this is your type, Midd is pretty decent.
We are not on the level of Arizona State, U of Miami, or even U of Michigan. Come to Midd for the academics and rich student life, not the sex.

The local transit system has three stops on or near campus and all the buses have bike racks. All are free.

Hot in the Summer – I was at Middlebury for a summer program and it was hot. There is no airconditioning in the dorms, so it was a little uncomfortable. My understanding is that it snows in the winter and there are a lot of winter sports in the area.

If You Need a Car, It's Easy – Parking permits are easy to get as a student, but the older you are the better your parking choices are. Student cars have to be parked in certain lots on campus rather than left on the streets, which have hourly limits to their parking spaces.
In my opinion a car is not necessary here. You can rent ZipCars from campus and the local shuttle bus is really convenient. Plus, most places are within walking/biking distance to start with.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
