Advice

  • Although the Career Services Office can seem obnoxiously helpful and intimidating, it is a valuable tool if you know how to use it. Attend its classes on how to write a resumé and cover letter if you’re unsure (or simply look at a sample online); go to its seminar on how to succeed at an interview; post your résumé and academic and contact information on MoJo to increase your visibility to employers; and, most importantly, search MoJo for current internship and job postings—many are great opportunities. The Career Service Office also provides information on scholarship and grant opportunities, and has set up MiddNet—an incredibly useful inroad to your prospective career path. Alumni are generally eager to assist current Middlebury students, as well.
