Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There is some transportation on Millikin's campus, but it is somewhat limited. As an incoming freshman, you are not allowed to have your car on campus unless you petition for it. The cost of a permit is $100. If you are a commuter student, it is $50. Sophomores must also petition for a car on campus. If you are not permitted to have a car, then try and find someone with a vehicle on campus. Carpooling is a good idea. During First Week, there will be "Milli-vans" to take you to Wal-Mart. However, after that, you must find your own way there. A couple of places, such as CVS, are close, but Wal-Mart and Target are beyond walking or biking distance.

There are public buses, too. The cost to ride is $1. If carpooling is unavailable, this would be the next best thing. However, the hours for the bus aren't necessarily the most convenient, only going until 7:15 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There are no campus shuttles available, but there are ways to get around Decatur. Definitely ask around in your residence hall if you need a ride. Someone may be able to give you a ride or point you in the right direction. It is just simply a matter of asking.
