Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School

Tips to Succeed
  • Be extremely attentive to the massive amount of reading and interpretation that you will be doing; 90 percent of your grades will depend on critical thinking.
  • Be sensitive but also curious about the beliefs of your colleagues.
  • Be wary of plagiarism.
  • Become conscious of the gossip culture, and develop a thick skin.
  • Develop personal relationships with administrators and faculty.
  • Pick a major and courses that you will enjoy.
  • Take time away from your studies; play some intramurals.

Fun Learning

Millsaps students love to have fun! Even in the classroom, our professors are continuously involving students with deep stimulating discussions, instead of just stuffy lectures. The social scene is awesome, whether you chose to go greek, or not. The campus is so close nit that everyone knows each other, so you will always have a good friend to lean on.
