Advice on Finding a Job/Internship Concerned about the next step after college? Millsaps offers a number of services, pointing out the real life impact of its degrees. There is a strong network of graduates and an emphasis on helping students get started in the real world. Generally, consider the most crucial aspect: how are you going to parlay your interests into a career? Get involved in organizations that might give you some direction, and discuss these things with your advisor and your professors. Also, communicate with the Career Resource Center, which is dedicated to job placement, internship searches, and skill development. During the school year, the Writing Center and the Career Resource Center each offer sessions on résumé writing and other professional skills which might need refining. The more obscure majors offer programs, inviting former graduates to discuss how they have used their degrees, and most majors have interest meetings that outline those conversations.
