Although Jackson has an affordable busing system and a number of taxi services, students mostly use cars. Once you have figured out some of the locales, it becomes easy to get rides to the most popular downtown destinations. The cultural hotspots are clumped together and are within a few minutes from campus. Most students don’t walk, but Jackson is a walker’s city. Within an hour, one could make it from campus to the capital building to the public library to the museum. The city’s cab services, often ignored, are inconvenient and not often used by resident Jacksonians.
The Jackson streets have a reputation for being very poorly maintained. The average tire life in the city is six months. It might be commonplace for a driver to have to deal with a flat tire or severely worn tires. The Jackson-Evers Airport makes a wide variety of flights available. However, it does not have a food court or any souvenir shops. Sometimes, buses will be provided from campus to some events such as Homecoming.

Transportation
You really need a car at Millsaps. Jackson public transportation is horrible and I wouldn't recommend walking around Jackson late at night.

Trolle
There is a trolley that can take you certain places. Or you can call a cab.

When I booked out of Jackson,...
When I booked out of Jackson, there were few flights. I’ve been told that you have to make sure that there will be a flight because the Jackson Airport has slow business and will occasionally cancel some flights.
If you’re handicapped, Millsaps security will offer you a ride on one of their golf-cart-like patrol vehicles
