I don't like business, but the department does well. They are very helpful and give meaningful work.

There are many people there to help you and are willing to work with you and look out for your best interest.

There are many places to study and a new, great library and science wing. The field house is nice, and the cafeteria has a lot of options.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T20:12:47Z
There are a lot of job fairs and placement programs.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I received the A+ Scholarship, so that was very helpful. However, I was a bit frustrated with some of the book policies when it came to book buybacks. There are some books now that come wrapped, and if you open or break the seal, the school will not buy them back at all. However, in order to use the book for class, you must open it, so you will not get any money back at the end of the semester. I find that a little odd, unless it is an activity booklet that you have to write in for class.

I had registered with this school for the Fall 2011 semester, because I was unsure at the time on what career path best suited me. So, this school has helped a lot, because I was able to stay close to home while I thought more on my future. I took a few writing classes here, which have better prepared me to pursue a writing degree in the near future, hopefully.

The professors here are very involved with their students when it comes to making time to make sure their students understand the curriculum. If a student is having trouble, they don't mind to go over it, and find ways that best suits the student.

Mineral Area College does not have a degree in screenwriting, which is what I intend to take when I transfer to a university. However, they have a range of writing classes that will prepare me for when I transfer.

One of the things I have come to love, is the Omega Leo organization. Mineral Area College is the only college in the area with this program. Omega Leo is a form of the International Lions Club, and they are all about helping to make a better community.

The students gather in the meeting area to work on class work or just to socialize.

Teachers here are knowledgeable and are helpful working around students needs while still keeping on schedule.

I have not taken any online courses so I can not give an accurate grade.

I chose Mineral Area because it is close to home and more convent, I've had morning and evening classes. I liked having classes in the evening because I'm not a morning person.

Although I've never used the tutoring program I know students who have and really appreciate the extra help. Professors are very helpful during class and even after.

The resources at Mineral Area College are great. Currently, they are renovating many areas of the campus. They are doing a good job at it too. The online thing I dislike is that there is no air conditioner in the gym. So any activities that take place there when it is hot outside will be miserable.

Even though I still have yet to graduate from Mineral Area College, my mother just did last May. While she was in the nursing program, she had opportunities in clinicals to see what it would be like in this career. She easily found a job after graduation because of the fact that many places are looking for Registered Nurses. Also, at MAC, they post the job outlooks for each career as well as the top careers. When doing so, they help many students make important choices.

At mineral area college, there are many students who juggle home life, work life, and school life. On top of that, most are parents. Even though we have all these wonderful students going to college to better themselves, there are still many who do not try. On top of this, new, young students act as if they are still in high school. That is normal considering of their age. Even though a lot of them are not the best with college, they are still there trying to better their lives some how. Because of this fact, I give them a B.

I don't have to use the computer network often but when I do it seems to work well. Most of my work is done at home. Online classes have some problems when there are storms in the area but that is to be expected.

I am a teaching major and the classes I have to take really apply to that field.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I believe that Mineral Area makes an effort to effectively process things like financial aid, however, I have certainly had some problems and 'hold up's' on my financial aid processing, and I know of some other people who have had similar problems as well.
College Senior 2013-04-06T06:39:07Z
While I strongly believe that Mineral Area has some very good and effective messages to pass along to its students, I have encountered some faculty that seem to just not understand how to effectively teach in ways that are simple and understandable.
College Senior 2013-04-06T06:37:09Z
People at Mineral Area are down to earth, and non judgmental. Everyone realizes, and respects the fact that it is a learning facility.
