Gay Pride
Sexual orientation is not considered a big issue here, but like every place, there are some homophobic people around. Gay pride is celebrated with parades and walks throughout the year, and the entire campus gets involved. There is also the LGBT Center in the student union that has a prevalent presence.
Political Activity
There is a good mix of conservative and liberal students on campus, and there are organizations for all points on the political spectrum.
Economic Status
Students here come from many different economic backgrounds: you'll find kids who went to private high schools, others who went to public schools, and many students who are paying for college themselves.
