I took all online class my first semesters which was very convenient since I did not have a car at that time, so with the wide variety of class offered online I was able to stay home and do my work and still attend college. The courses were a bit challenging but I was able to manage the work.

The resources are very great. They have several computers available for student use and the internet connection loads very fast. However, the online blackboard systems often has glitches and some of my professors have to change their schedules because of this.

I chose MSU West Plains because it is a well-known campus and its very close to my hometown. The class schedules are very flexible and the have many classes offered at a wide variety of times.

The facilities on campus are great. There is a Civic Center near the university that has many events every month that are very interesting and enjoyable. The campus is very efficient and has many things offered to its students.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The only reason I chose to attend is the A+ scholarship that Missouri State University - West Plains accepts, which is an amazing financial help. Two years of my schooling here are completely paid for. I did recieve a $250 scholarship from the school, which was also a help.

The student body is worse than it was at my high school. Cliques and "popular kids" are rampant. People just hang out with the same kids they hung out with in high school. The same few people are the face of everything. No diversity. Just a bunch of people from the general area. No tolerence for anyone who isn't a conservative or a hick. I haven't made a single friend here.

Missouri State University-West Plains does not offer the academic rigour that is expected with higher education. Yes, I have learned a few things, but the cirriculum is not much more difficult than that of high school. It is a fine education for someone planning on staying in West Plains for the rest of his or her life, but if you have real aspirations, MSU-WP won't get you there.

I am both an employee and full-time student at Missouri State University-West Plains. For my job, I have to travel to surrounding high schools daily and work with the seniors. There may be times where, due to an appointment, I might make it to class late or have to leave a class early. All of my teachers have been incredibly understanding about my schedule and willing to work with me schedule conflicts.

I know most schools do it the same way, but wish people who were not on financial aid could work as well.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I am not able to recieve financial aid, but I do know the Tuition is not as expensive as one might think. With the Missouri A+ program they are paying for your first to years and your pay for your room and board and of course books. BUT a lot of people got there financial aid messed up because of this school

They throw sooooo much at you and don't know how to use a computer. Not a bright idea!

Starter College – My school is not a major university and is for two years. It has helped be better prepare myself for a real school.
College Senior 2013-07-11T08:41:48Z
I know it is only a community college but I feel like they could offer more since they are a branch of MSU-Springfield. It would help let people graduate faster and easier.

It is a bit of confusion because it feels as if people aren't there for you and you are completely on your own. I WORK HARD but they don't get paid to care
College Senior 2013-07-11T08:35:17Z
Resources on Campus – The resources on the campus are okay. The tutors are students and some really do not help or do not care because it is their job. I just wish people would care a little more.

It is horrible and I feel like I learned more in high school then I did with the careless instructors that they have there.I am African American and I feel uncomfortable each day. It is not diverse and does no challenging enough.
College Senior 2013-07-11T08:07:59Z
This school is horrible for anyone who is not use to a small area. It is very boring school and is not what it is cracked up to be, it is a very cheap price and the instructors could be anyone. I could be a instructor. I understand that it is not very diverse but people there make me feel very uncomfortable. I am not a athlete, but simply a African American who is getting her education for free due to scholarships. To be honest more than half of the people that go there do not like it. White or black. it does not matter this school dull and is not the place to be. Red Carpet day, made me feel like this school would be great because how people made me feel and it seem. BUT when I get there, those people are fake, gossipers, and are always in your business. Rogers Taylor, is a disgusting perverted man.

The only reason they are really getting even a B- is because you can receive degrees in your home town. Otherwise they would probably get a D because they are a branch of Missouri State University that is in Springfield, but they are not accredited enough to transfer the same classes as Springfield to Springfield. They only transfer as electives.

Unless a student is going into one of the few degrees we offer a graduate progeam through, there isn't many post-grad opportunities.

Online courses are extremely different from a classroom setting. Online courses require more discipline since you don't have a teacher to remind you of assignments. They also require more self-teaching. Online courses aren't for everyone.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Really low cost here, but you get what you pay for.
College Freshman 2013-03-13T03:13:37Z
I'm just getting general education requirements out of the way right now. In one class, we only take notes and tests, I've yet to have homework or truly learn anything from it. In another, my teacher is very foreign and I can't understand a word she says.
College Freshman 2013-03-13T03:07:35Z
There is some help, but the school doesn't do much to promote or make students aware of the service.

The proffesors are very helpful. If you have any questions about what was discussed that day, the professors are more than happy to stay and explain it to you. Usually if you have and questions and you email the proffesor, they will answer within 24 hours.

This semester is the first time I am taking online classes, I am liking it this far.
