Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at MSU typically prefer to avoid the mushrooms and have some Bacardi instead. Those that do choose to run the risk of testing positive on a drug test will often light a joint rather than do any of the more dangerous drugs, such as acid or crack. Mushrooms are probably the second most popular drug of choice on campus, but a relatively low number of students have even tried such hallucinogens.

Alcohol is a much more serious problem than drug abuse, and rumor has it that over half the drivers in Montana after dark have been drinking. Thankfully, MSU provides the Cat Cab, a cheap way for students to get home from parties safely. Drugs are not a prominent part of campus life at MSU, and those who do choose to indulge in their illegal curiosities usually choose to do so off campus at a party or a friend’s house.

Alcohol as Water?

Drinking at MSU is huge..after all, it is a party school. However, there is SO much to do in Bozeman that if drinking isn't what you're in to, you do NOT have to do it, and nobody pressures you to.

Medical Marijuana

Montana politics are really actually cool (not because we somehow passed medical marijauna) but because our local representatives are everyday people who get together every couple of years and put forth the ideas they think will make Montana a better place to raise their families, there are lawyers and plumbers and ranchers. But when medical marijuana was passed some people started coming to school here because they thought it was legal to smoke it on campus, grow it on campus. Not so true, and the Board of Regents and Camps PD have been pretty good about laying down the law. Occasionally you still hear about some moron that tried to argue it was legal. (I would like to note that Montana's medical marijuana bill was revoked recently.)
