Career Prospects

For language junkies, Monterey is about as good as it gets in the United States. Programs are available for common as well as critical language combinations (i.e. Asian). The State Department and other organizations regularly recrute here, and graduate can be found throughout the world (Washington, New York, Brussels etc.)

Public Transport

Monterey county has a fairly good bus system so it's possible to live in surrounding communities and commute to campus. Some communities can even be reached by bike.

Mild Weather

Coming from the Southeast, it's nice to live in an environment that stays mild throughout the year. Humidity is virtually non-existent which tends to zap less energy for studying.
