The officers can be a little over zealous about enforcing the campus.

Drugs aren't a huge issue, but underage drinking is common practice, especially to those involved in student organizations. The campus police are great at enforcing university policies, but most students just go off campus to drink. City police almost always have road blocks set up or will investigate parties if they think there is law breaking occuring.

Drinking is pretty popular at MSU among some groups, however I and many of my friends do not take part in the drinking scene so I don't know very much about it. All the helpful information I can offer is that I have heard people talking about parties and drinking, and that "Thirsty Thursday" exists and may be annoying when people are loud at night. I have also smelled marijuana on campus, but rarely. Overall, MSU is an extremely safe campus, and I usually feel perfectly safe walking around at night. The drinking scene is more of an annoyance than a safety issue for me, but I also do not partake in the activities.

The drug scene at Morehead State University is really dependent on who you surround yourself with, just like at other universities. Drugs are not tolerated on campus, and severe actions are taken when students are caught using them. Drinking is probably the most common drug usage on campus, and hard drugs are usually never an issue. For the most part, Morehead State is lacking a major drug scene.
