I love my program so far, the work load has been appropriate. I have only taken one class, but the professor has been extremely helpful and wants us to succeed.

I love everything about Mount Ida
College Sophomore 2013-11-29T22:57:26Z
Mount Ida is a small campus nestled in the picturesque town of Newton, which is minutes from Boston.

I have not experienced any signs that Greeks even exist.
College Sophomore 2013-11-29T22:54:35Z
I have never eaten at school.

I personally am an adult who owns a condo in Boston proper; however, I love the location of the campus, the surrounding neighborhoods are esthetically pleasing and very safe for anyone to live in at any point in the day or night. Pricing is a bit high in Newton, but you're going to get what you pay for.

If you get to campus early, you will have your pick f parking. There are a lot of students who commute, so spaces go very fast. If you can, get a spot early, then don't leave campus. Otherwise, you'll end up driving around campus a few times trying to find a spot close to the building where your class(es) is/are.

If you are not prepared to WORK, you can get overloaded very quickly. The professors are there to help you and want you to succeed

The student center was just remodeled and looks beautiful. We also have a gorgeous new football/lacrosse/soccer field that was finished last year.

I'm currently in the Veterinary Technology program, and it is a very challenging program to be in. It's not all "play with puppies and kittens". You study everything there is to know about working in the veterinary field. This includes running lab tests, x-rays, assisting in surgery, learning how to care for dogs, cats, horses, cows, and just about every other animal you can think of. It's a LOT of work, but completely worth it.

The athletics are good. Many students are student-athletes on campus.

The off-campus housing are townhouses near the college. They are close to the school but with traffic it could take longer to get to the college.

Mount Ida is being re-furbished to include more eateries, more areas to study in peace and quiet and the heating and ventilation systems have been upgraded. First year there was horrible - no heat for almost a whole week.

Free shuttle takes you to downtown where you can pick up the transit to get just about anywhere. Shuttle schedules are frequent and convenient.

Mount Ida is very strict when it comes to underage drinking. ID's have to be shown to get into the dorms where there are 21 and over students. Doors and locked and security drives around constantly. Mount Ida also does not tolerate violence, there is a risk of a total campus shutdown in the case of violence.
College Sophomore 2013-08-26T21:19:31Z
There are a lot of students at Mount Ida that consider Mount Ida to be a family. Most students get along very well, but there are those few that refuse to have open minds and who have been brought up to believe that there is nothing wrong with discrimination. However at Mount Ida College - we don't roll that way. We are all equal and all capable of treating each other with respect and kindness.
College Senior 2013-08-21T04:27:21Z
Nightlife at Mount Ida is not that great. I usually party off campus, 18+ clubs in providence or back home. For students 21 plus theres a lot of places around Boston that they can go to like bars & clubs.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
