Lots of options in the liberal arts fields. Not so much in arts like filming & that sort of thing though.

The only university that I know of that puts strong training in the areas of morals & ethics, as foundations of their mandatory Veritas program.

Average dorms for freshmen but upper class men have great options.

The academics offered are some of the best. It will challenge you. Speaking to my friends the mmost challenging major is Bio and Chem. The Business is very good. They have a lot of companies come during the year for recruitment.

The school offers financial aid to everyone. The amount differs for each student. The school lowers the financial aid if you dont keep a certain GPA.

Guys & Girls:
the guys and girls at my school are friendly for the most part. They are fun to be around and they usually help out around campus with the various clubs that we have to offer.

Our sports teams are okay. The basketball just had a great season last year. The fan support at the games could go up more.

Housing is close to everything on campus, but is EXTREMELY outdated.
College Sophomore 2013-07-16T15:58:40Z
The parking is pretty good, however it is limited and freshman and sophomores have to park across from the school at the ARRC which can be very inconvenient. Parking enforcement by public safety can also be very unreasonable.
College Sophomore 2013-07-16T15:56:01Z
The facilities are pretty good, however the labs are extremely outdated. The athletic facilities are great! The ARRC has any and everything inside of it. The campus is always really clean and the dining hall is really nice.

The mount has various options for Off-Campus Housing. They are all relatively close to campus, and from what I hear, the people who are housed off campus love it!
College Sophomore 2013-07-16T15:50:31Z
The campus is beautiful, and the class sizes are great. The science programs are excellent, but they do fill up quickly. Everything on campus is easily accessible, and the staff is always helpful! I am very happy with my campus and education.

Mount St. Marys is a very isolated university. The extent of our "Nightlife" is drinking and hanging out in an apartment or a sport house. Even those get bust pretty early because the campus is small making it easy for public safety to stop party before they get to wild.
College Sophomore 2013-07-08T21:09:45Z
All the dorms are fairly close to each other and our classes! Some dorms are better than others but no dorms are downright bad. Your dorm mates become a sort of family.

Like any college the mount has good food days as well as not so great food days. However the mount never has complete bad days with their food. the food might not always be amazing but it will never be below average.

Emmitsburg has nothing to offer. It is old town that the only thing that keeps it alive is the mount.
College Senior 2013-06-30T19:51:37Z
Parking is far away for all classes. As a junior and senior it does improve but still difficult. The parking tickets are ridiculous.

Health & Safety:
I feel very safe. I always see public safety. We are in a remote location so I am never worried.

Guys & Girls:
The people looks pretty average. People would dress in sweatpants and t-shirts most of the time. People would rarely dress up. There are a group of very interesting people who are different from the rest but they are weird.
College Junior 2013-06-30T01:08:00Z
It has a quiet scenery during the night and it is quite safe there too. There parties sometimes in the apartments area during the weekends. Since the place is out of nowhere, there is anything else to do.
College Senior 2013-06-28T23:05:17Z
Housing process is a nightmare but the housing itself is not too bad. The underclassmen probably have a worse experience because they are overcrowded, but the school has done its best to adjust
College Senior 2013-06-28T23:01:08Z
At the mount, it is usually very hot when we first arrive in august, then it is rainy and chilly, then at the end of october it is cold and can be very miserable until about april or may. Usually it is very windy and blustery or cloudy. But, at times, we have nice sunny days!
College Senior 2013-06-28T22:59:22Z
The professors are great. The curriculum can be very frustrating because it changes so often. For example, upperclassmen who are tutoring underclassmen may have a difficult time because the classes are so different. The workload is a lot, but it is a very good thing. It is difficult at times to find places to study. Since the school is so small yet has so many people, most people study in the library, or go to the library to relax and talk to their friends. This creates chaos on some nights when people who want to study feel cramped in and annoyed by students who come to the library to talk and have fun.
College Senior 2013-06-28T22:54:56Z
I love being an English major! I love the staff in my department and the workload is very difficult, yet manageable. I feel like i am learning so much and i wouldn't choose any other major.
College Senior 2013-06-28T22:53:09Z
They do the best they can! There could be more variety, but i am very happy with the options that exist. They could definitely do a whole lot worse!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
