Mount Vernon Nazarene University is a residential campus. That being said, there are rules and limitations to students attending the University when it comes to living off campus. In order to live off campus, a student must be: living with a parent/guardian, in senior standing and at least 21 years of age, living with a child, 22 years of age or older, or legally married. Because of these limitations, many students are not even aware of the ability to live off campus or where to look for off-campus housing.
Most students graduate before or just as they turn 23. Unless they have parents living in Mount Vernon or get married before they graduate, it is more likely students will not have the need to live off campus. The positive side to this is MVNU provides apartment-style housing on campus, so students can feel more like an adult rather than always living in a dormitory.
