If you’re not into drugs, it’s possible to go through your four years at Muhlenberg without ever even encountering them. Sure, there are drugs on campus; it’s just not something that is very prevalent within everyday activities on campus. It seems like people who smoke pot tend to find one another, but it’s not like they come and recruit users. The only people who are very aware of the existence of a drug scene are those who are a part of it; for other people, you can go about your life without having it really impact your college experience.

In many respects, Muhlenberg probably has fewer students using drugs than a typical high school. The only drug that you see on a somewhat regular basis is alcohol, but that is to be expected at most colleges. The faculty has started to get worried about the rise in alcohol on campus in the past couple of years, but the majority of students don’t seem to think that it’s that out of hand. One thing that most students tend to agree on when it comes to drugs on campus is that there really isn’t a pressure to try them. If you decide that you want to use them, they’re available. If you don’t, people leave you alone.

I think it’s one of those things that if you want drugs, you definitely can get them, but if you don’t, it’s no big deal. They’re not shoved in your face everywhere you go.
