I like that it is not a massive institution. Parking is right in front of the door and not miles away. You can easily visit different advisors within minutes because of it's small size. The thing I love the most is the vast options they have for online courses. Since I live an hour away this was very important to me due to gas prices.

The student body is a mix of all ages, colors and sexes. I was very happy to see this since I am an older student who did not want to feel like a fish out of water.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It very expensive to get an education here. You need to be dedicated and go to class all the time.

NAU is about helping students further their education, and completing their degrees. They even offer re-entrance to the school. They have personal pictures on the walls of people who chose to make it and change their lives for the better. I am determined to be up on the walls of . I am pretty happy thus far.

There is an online career center that lists jobs, but I am most impressed with my instructors and advisors reaching out to me to help me with my resume and job search strategies.

I am working towards a Legal Studies Associate's Degree and all of my law teachers are attorneys. The other classes that are required for my degree are tailored to my future career, like Business Accounting and Critical Thinking. At my last school, I had to fulfill a number of electives that were not central to my career, like Algebra and Physical Education.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is expensive here, but you walk away from a class having the skill needed to walk into a work place with the training that you need. I have attended a community college and a state college. The community college slows the classes down to include the slowest learners. Here the professors approach students having problems and get them into tutoring, which is free to students. At the state university, there is no training on work skills that you can use right away. I appreciate being able to work at the quickest speed possible, I am allowed to do more work than other students and gain special attention from professors and faculty. They nurture their students and do everything they can to make sure they are successful.

This is a smalll school, tailored to academics for students who are pursuing training for a new career. There are no athletic facilities, just a great staff with great availability ready to help you achieve your goals as quickly as possible.

The computer lab is usually not crowded, I have only had to wait once to access a computer. There is only one printer, and not always someone there to troubleshoot. Often I have fixed printer problems and helped other students with printing problems. At the times when there is a faculty staff member present, she is always helpful.

the academic dean and the admissions reps are very helpful, any questions they help any problem they help, and if they cant answer it they find someone who can. Most schools dont want to help much once your enrolled.

they have an online library that helps with nurses classes and english classes. They also provide free testing websites to help in preparing for test.

No Uniqueness – Outside of the nursing program, there is a perfect attendence and academic program in which you get a certificate. There is no money associated with the certificate or ceremony really. No campus life or social scene. Students come to campus for class and leave campus when they are done. It is like a high school without the extracurricular activities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The Value of the BSN Program Education – The value of the BSN program education is average due to the limitation of 2 nursing professors for the entire 2 year nursing program. The workload is overwhelming in which it is so intense and excessive that it hinders the ability for students to process the information in order to learn it. Financial aid representatives care only about if your tuition is paid. Give you one website to get an outside loan which is only two banks that NAU affiliates themselves with. Don't offer scholarships or have a list of them like other universities. Make sure you have financial aid, grants, loans, and any other means to finance your education at NAU. Because it is an EXPENSIVE, OVER PRICED EDUCATION!

Unsatified With My Choice – I wished I would had invested into another university. The BSN program is new. I am the first graduating class. We only have two professors that teach so there is no variety of academic professors. The program is a disorganized chaos! I feel like a ginnea pig...trial and error technique with establishing order within the program. Excessive and intense workload which is unnecessary. The school have students purchase textbooks that are not even used for the class, but their reasoning behind it is "to use them for a reference." No it is a waste of money!

Greatly Diverse Campus – The student body is greatly diverse at the Overland Park campus. You will find some recent high school graduates wishing to further their education, single moms tired of struggling to raise a family as well as the "mature student" that after years of service in the work force are finding it difficult to meet earning potential due to lack of a degree. I fall into two of the catagories that I have just listed, I am both a single mother as well as the "mature student" of 40 something returning to school to finally earn a degree in nursing. I was a little nervous about returning to school after having been out for so long but thanks to campus tours and having visited with other students, I am much more at ease and extremely excited about all of the challenges and successes that my future holds.

This is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. You have to have a good work ethic and put in the time.

Average Campus – Its not a traditional college, so there aren't any activities or places to hang out on campus. They have a very small library and a small lounge area, which is fine because most people aren't there that long anyway.

Anytime, Online or Nightime. I enrolled in classes the week before the start of the semester, and I was able to get into the classes that I needed, and even had a good idea of what I was going to need over the next few semesters. There are a great number of online classes, which is so easy to work into my schedule, and night classes are available for working people.

Learning for Now and for the Future – My online class teaches learning strategies. I have found so much help with all my classes by applying what I learn every week. We are learning skills that will help with classes and in the work force, such as reading retention, note taking and motivational skills.

Adults Working Towards Careers – I just switched from a junior college and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The teachers teach at a high level and expect a lot from the students. They are also very helpful to guide students to outside resources, such as tutoring.
The students are very friendly and happy to help with any questions. They are all ages, but they are all working hard to get the skills they need to raise their job prospects.
The staff is always happy to see me and they are in contact with me frequently, to let me know if there is something I need to do, or just to say hello.
I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the gain the knowledge they need in as short a time as possible and be ready to enter the work force.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
