Health & Safety:
I feel fairly secure at Nebraska Christian. The RA's and Head Residents are in charge of keeping us safe. I don't think our students take safety as seriously as they should. In the past, doors have been left propped open so that they can get in without a key after the doors are locked. Living as close to Omaha as we do, this is incredibly unsafe. Another thing that bothers me is that we don't really have a trained security guard. This is possibly in the making for next semester, but I feel like someone to do late-nnight security would be a good thing.

Most of the classes at my school are in one building, so it's not like students have to walk 2 blocks in the snow to get to a class. The farthest anyone has to walk is across the lawn to get to our chapel/worship arts building. The one thing weather really does affect is our ability to have classes. Our college is on a gravel/dirt road, so when it snows and professors cannot get out to the school, we are unable to have class.

Chic- fil-A, Applebees (popular), Orange Leaf are favorites of mine. Applebee's has half-price appetizers every night that draw many students from our school. There are lots of easy, low-cost places to eat that sometimes offer discounts for our students. The only thing that would possibly make this grade less is the fact that our school is about 3 or 4 miles outside of town so it takes several minutes to get anywhere.

I think we have one of the best counseling undergrad programs. A lot of practical learning and since we are required to do a lot of interning hours, it helps us see how our job is going to be like.

I love that our parking permits don't have an additional fee. I also like that there is a lot of parking spaces so that there is enough for everybody to park.

Love it! Serene, safe, "small town" feel, but close enough to the city to enjoy all that it has to offer...art, theater, various restaurants...and "the mall"!!

I only give NCC a "C" in this area because the student body consists of young men and women of various races, economic backgrounds, and political beliefs, however, the majority of students are Bible believing, Christians with common fundamental beliefs. All are welcome!!

The rules are clearly established. They trust that we will honor them. There is a lot a freedom, if you just follow the rules.

Guys & Girls:
The student body is made up of beautiful, intelligent, successful servants of the Lord! If you are making a decision about college, based on the dating scene or where you can find the biggest party, NCC is NOT for you! It is a place where, anyone, regardless of race, sex, economic status, disability, or religion is welcome. It is a place to meet Jesus. It is a place to discover the historical, tangible truths that are written in the Bible, the ONLY tool we'll ever need! It is a place to see His word...His promises for all of us...actualized...in 2013!! It is a place to feel the comfort and peace of His ABSOLUTE prescence when you're faced with life's struggles. It's a place to really get to know Him....then to joyfully, confidently, and eagerly go tell EVERYONE about Him!! For the 13 years of my public education, I was the "fat girl" or the "crippled girl"! Never once was I addressed by any of my male peers, unless it was to make fun of me or to laugh at the way I ran in PE class. No one cared what was inside the package. A few weeks into my college career, I was getting really homesick. My roommates went home every weekend, and I was left alone, and not wanting to worry my mom. I was walking to class and I had been crying a few minutes earlier, when a popular, male, senior student who was walking towards me in the hall, stopped me and said, "Kylee, what's wrong? You've been crying!" When I told him that I was homesick, he said, "Let's pray together about it!" He prayed with me and for the Lord to provide me with some comfort when I needed it! He's a good friend to this day! This is the quality of men and women at NCC, and I am blessed to have them in my life!!

If you are looking to serve the Lord in ministry, NCC is the place to go. The curriculum is tough, but the professors are knowledgeable and encouraging. To graduate in 4 years, you have to maintain 16 credit hours per semester, and you are required to do missions work every year, which really helps to prepare you for the field.

The dorms are amazing! They are quads with bathrooms on each side, with large study areas for each roommate, and a nice "living room" centrally located! NCC is a close-knit group. When you enroll at NCC, your cost is locked in for the next 4 years, which is a GREAT benefit for parents and students. We are a "work in progress", so a big surprise when you come to visit is our location.....a couple of miles down a gravel road, but it's beautiful out here in the country! You need to think about transportation when you come to NCC, because town is a few miles from school, and public transportation is not really an option. I love it here! The professors are fantastic, and the student body is like my extended family!

We are a bible believing college so our basic principals do not waiver from God's law, however we have a diverse student body and the curriculum reflects the ethnic and racial diversity that was relevent when the Bible was written

There is two parking lots and there is always plenty of parking, I've never had a problem with the parking!

Respectful Students – The men at this school are real MEN! They are respectful and they know how to treat women. The women are really classy and sweet. They are Christians that really know how o have a good time while being respectable adults.

Pepperjax Grill (Philly Cheesesteaks) – This place is amazing! Its like a subway for philly cheesesteaks. And it's not too expensive, perfect for a night downtown for college students!

"nightlife" is ok, I guess, not parties really, just friends hanging out.
College Senior 2011-12-06T00:35:49Z
There is hardly any off campus housing, and you lose a lot of benefits for not staying in the dorms, eg. tuition cuts.
College Senior 2011-12-06T00:34:57Z
The technology is ok, nothing to fancy, unless you are in music.
College Senior 2011-12-06T00:33:43Z
I love being in the worship arts program, I learn a ton everyday that applies to my career, it keeps you busy, but everything you do is important to being a music minister.

Pretty good, a bit expensive for the amount of food, I think, but I think it's normal among schools.

NCC's racial diversity is on the rise and keeps going. it used to not have much other than whites, but there has been a lot of change to that the past couple years. religiously, it is a Christian Bible College, what do you expect? probably 95% of students are Christian but there are those who aren't.

Tons of Options – There are a fair amount of apartments to rent in Papillion, NE (where NCC is located and ranked as the #3 best city in the USA by Money Magazine 2011). but Omaha which is only 10 minutes away has TONS of options. Apartments, houses for rent, and they are all very reasonably priced.

Four Buildings Feels Like Five, Going on Six – Nebraska Christian College's campus is new so it has a ton of new and advanced technology along with phenomenal dorm rooms. however, it only has dorm rooms, 2 small workout rooms, offices, classrooms, a theater/concert hall, married housing, and a beautiful front lawn. everything is very nice, high tech, and easy to use. The next building going up is the gym and activities center, and another dorms/classrooms area after that! Come and check it out for yourself.

Our financial aid officer is awesome, she is extremely helpful in finding and posting scholarship opportunities, as well as explaining the aid process to new and returning students. It would be helpful if the school made the scholarships they provide, more known, but they do exist. Start early if you want to be ready for the next semester!
College Junior 2011-07-11T00:03:47Z
Outside dining is always at least 15 minutes away, and usually is fairly expensive, as there are few places that give student discounts. Applebee's is the best place.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
