Guys & Girls:
Most of the students area athletes and guys and girls alike are working hard in sports or at the gym. Miss New Hampshire attended but i'm not sure if she still does. We have a strong Lax team as well as Rugby team. The girls are as athletic as the guys. There are a handful of us who are smarter than the rest of the students and for the most part I would say they are intellectually average. There are some hot girls but you cannot expect to see them everywhere. Most go out partying and one night stands.

Chartwells is good, Mondays-Thursdays menutainment is great and I miss it on weekends. Simon Center has great food available always and is the only place to spend flex cash. There are off-campus options Gin Gins being my personal favorite and Sonnys and Western Ave are also good places. Other than that Daniels but its very pricey.

Health & Safety:
New England College is not a bad campus because the people for the most part are kind and respectful except for the very few jerks but in all honestly they are not a problem at all. The campus is safe and we have people working to make sure it stays that way.

I do not attend classes at the college. Most of my coursework is online, and my actual class is held offsite.

Most of the campus is decent, though some of the older buildings are a little run down. The newly renovated dorms and the simon center are the nicest buildings on campus. None of the other buildings are particularly nice, though perfectly usable.

Unless you're into skiing or you have a car and a buttload of cash, you have nothing to do. Outdoorsy stuff is all around here, which is great for people who like that. But there's not much as far as eateries, or shopping or anything in the immediate area.
College Sophomore 2013-08-18T15:30:02Z
Most people who are into the drug scene drink or smoke pot. There isn't really any pressure to join in. Everybody's pretty respectful of what people decide for themselves. There can sometimes be trouble with the drinking scene. Occasionally someone will have to be brought to the hospital because they've made themselves sick.

The English and Writing departments have some of the best professors. They are passionate about what they do, they care about their students, and are always available to help. You can pop into their office for a chat about your work in their class or another, or about mostly anything. However, in some other majors, you have to step lightly around some professors.

There's not a really big drug scene at NEC. We are out in the woods, so a lot of people smoke pot. Lots of people drink. On that, if you are a partier, watch your intake. Not just for your drink being drugged (which I haven't yet heard of on campus but still could happen), but a number of people have been taken to a local hospital when they've drunk themselves sick.

Guys & Girls:
Not many good looking guys around campus, they're pretty average. The hockey team has some hot guys, who are nice and funny, but difficult to connect with on an intellectual level either because of the English as a second language thing, or because their interests are a bit exclusive to their sport and their major. The other guys, while a bit more diverse in their interests, are drinkers, smokers (cigarettes or pot), fairly dumb, or in desperate need of a shower.

First off: the WiFi is HORRIBLE. If you don't have an ethernet cable, the chances of getting it in your room is slim to none. Do not rely on WiFi. It's somewhat better in the campus buildings, but not by much, and it is constantly going down. A nice thing, however, is the computer labs. There are two (one in the building where the writing professor's offices are, and another in the top floor of the Simon center), and they're open 24/7. So if you need to print or need a place to work on your papers, you can go at any time. The computers themselves are alright. They're run of the mill and average speed -- nothing special, but nothing too bad. There are almost one or two computers that are down, however, so watch out for that.

Honestly, Henniker has got to be one of the most boring places I've ever been. We have a saying at NEC ... Whenever somebody mentions "It's the only Henniker on earth!" you reply with "Thank God for that." You're only chance for entertainment, aside from the few and lackluster events the school puts on, is heading out to Concord, but that's only happening if you have a car, or have a friend with one. If you're looking for a great town with lots of cool places and the ability to be out and about, don't come here. It DOES, however, have a lot to offer in the way of hiking and forests, and Pat's Peak is right down the road for Skiing.

Guys & Girls:
The people at NEC are alright. I think that it depends on what group you hang out with. Honestly, it's a lot like high school all over again. The campus is small and word travels really quickly. Most of the people I've met are fairly immature, but that may be typical for a college setting -- being a freshman, I'm unsure as to whether or not that's the norm. Even those in higher grades, even up to senior year, seem to be lacking in maturity, however, and everyone is more interested in partying than studying and getting their work done. This does mean that people are willing to party and hang out, but the maturity level brings it down a bit. People have all sorts of different manners of dress, but for the most part it's fairly preppy and middle class. For relationships, I've only known one successful one. Generally there are a lot of hook ups instead.

There is little to no option when it comes to off campus dining. Quite honestly, NEC has an awful selection. No place in Henniker gives student discounts, and the only decent restaurants, of which there are two, are highly expensive and not something a college student can afford. If you don't have a car, and many freshman don't, you're basically stuck on campus with little to no option to get to Concord, the nearest city. They do have a shuttle every Friday, but it gets cancelled quite a bit.

The dinning hall at New England College is not all that great. The pizzeria on campus are really good and there open till a certain time. If you want more options you would have to drive out of the campus. As a freshman I suggest to not buy the higher meal plan. The dinning hall first week of school the food is good after that the food gets to you and you get tired of it. But I will tell you chicken party Wednesday will be your favorite day at New England college dinning hall.

I'm at New England College and my major is criminal justice. I'm very satisfied with my education, the professor will work with you and are willing to help. All my professor in my major have been on the field and have had a successful career. Getting to know my professor on a personal level has been a big help this year and will help me out with my future.
College Sophomore 2013-07-16T22:00:53Z
The academics at New England College is great. When I first went there the professor make sure your on the same level as they are. There academic programs are really good, no matter what major your in the professor will challenge you. As a criminal justice major there hard on you but they want the best for you. The class sizes are small and you can have one on one with your professor and also the campus is small.

The drug scene at New England College is not that big, the most people do is smoke. That depends on who you hang out with but drinking is big at the college.

Guys & Girls:
This school is a very small campus. Most of the guys and girls are all athletes and are really involved with their sports. Their is also a lot of foreign kids who attend school here. It's mostly hook ups that happen here but their are those few couples that turn out really cute. The guys think who they are and the girls are just as bad. Some of the guys are really attractive but either has girlfriends or are just plain rude. You do have the opportunity to find nice guys and some pretty nice girls.

The permit is costly and the campus safety ticket cars a lot for any reason. Spots fill quickly and some lots are really far and up a hill from dorms.

Not true, most of the people who go to NEC are from different states and countries as well as from the area. This was not a very great review of the students that go to New England College, it was very closed minded and focused on one point of view.
College Junior 2013-04-25T18:30:06Z
Once again, it's a very bland scene. I wish I had a lot to write about but there really isn't much. Everything about my school is average, from the buildings to the students to the staff, nothing is bad, nothing is great.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
