Students say that the best part about attending NYU is living in New York City. Students’ biggest complaint is the large tuition. Other complaints were that there is not much of a campus or student bond, and that the school is run too much like a business. But in general, those who go to NYU cite many benefits of living in the city, such as great nightlife, food, and internship opportunities.
NYU requires a certain taste and is not for everyone. Those who love city life and the arts tend to do best here. For those who prefer keg parties and large organized student events, such as sports and Greek life, this is probably not the right place. Whatever you’re thinking when you apply to this school, just remember that if you attend, you should be prepared for a mix of demanding academics and wild experiences in the city. Finding a balance between the two is key at this big-city school.
