NYU is in NYC. NYC is the greatest city in the world. Enough said.

There are plenty of computer labs and computers around campus. Most of them are pretty new and easy to use.

LOVE the Sunday brunch at Palladium. Third North has good food and a great variety to choose from. There is always some place to get food when you want it, no matter where you are.

I may not have the same feeling as others at NYU because I am in Tisch School of the Arts. But none of my friends (nor I) really pay any attention to sports here.

It was pretty hot when school started, but bareable. With Hurricane Sandy, we lost power for a week, so this may be an unfair addition to my answer as it is not a common occurance. Then we had the snow storm come through, but it wasn't really all that bad here in NYC. The winter is cold sometimes, which makes it more difficult to walk to classes. But other times it has been only slightly cold and no big deal. Lookin forward to how it will be in spring!

You can be anyone, of any religion, political belief or sexual orientation. In fact, NYU might be a little too eager to be diverse, so it can be difficult to be here if you are extremely conservative.

Night clubs are great and you can find a variety of "classy" bars to the dirtier, cheaper ones. But overall, having some friends who are a bit older and have apartments is the best chance of having a great party. Apartment parties are definitely better than your traditional frat house parties. But the bars and clubs here are nice if you don't know anyone with an open apartment - but drinks don't come cheap.

Most people partake in internships. I have not personally but plan to in the future. Many people have found it easy to find a suitable internship for what they are studying.

Health & Safety:
I have rarely felt unsafe walking to and from campus. The campus is within the city, so one must be careful when walking home late at night. Or taka a taxi.

Master's students get very little financial help. Don't expect any money.

Very overwhelming to find housing in NY. Craigslist is a nightmare and the apartments are small and very expensive.

Guys & Girls:
There are a variety of guys, but also a seemingly universal sense of I'm-too-cool. Some smart ones for sure, but also very conceited.

Drug presence is present, but not overbearing. You can find them if you want them(it's NYC after all), but it won't disrupt your life if you avoid those things.
College Sophomore 2013-02-14T18:43:40Z
Eh, not that good. It's hard to find a apartment where the landlord is willing to sign a lease that's less than 12 months or so.

Pray to god.
Quite honestly, it's hard to receive any financial aid from NYU. They're a not-for-profit school, but that also means that they're living off of tuition from students.

Great weather, though since I'm from California, the winter can get a little chilly for me. Nothing you can't shake off though!

It's the greatest city in the world; you pay for the experience of the city, not so much the experience of a "campus" college.

Although not know for its campus life, NYU works hard to give NYC the campus vibe and coordinated with the city to create opportunities through internships and activities for students.

It's average...facilities include many training area for workout.

I'm a Spanish & Latin American Literature & Culture major. The professors are all incredibly friendly and passionate about whatever subject they teach. The workload is doable, and the readings are very interesting.

NYU has everything. There are tutors available for whoever needs one. The professors I've had have been ridiculously friendly and down to earth. The workload, however, is intense.
College Senior 2013-02-11T01:17:43Z
I currently receive close to all of my tuition paid for by financial aid due to my family's socio-economic situation. I'm part of the Higher Education Opportunities Program (HEOP). NYU has been incredibly generous.

Guys & Girls:
If you are a straight male, you're in luck. The school is crawling with straight girls in need of some male companionship. If you're gay or lesbian, you're in luck too. There's a decent number around to satisfy your fancy, and if not you're still in the Village, it's not hard to find someone. Straight girls? Consider looking around at other schools.

I love my school, and being in New York gives you countless opportunities. It's a LOT of work, don't get me wrong, but it's work that I enjoy. While other majors usually have 2-3 classes a day for 4 days a week, I have 4 classes a day plus rehearsals. Again, the workload is huge, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Health & Safety:
Not too much criminal activity goes on amongst NYU students, and I feel extremely safe in the residence halls and on campus. Public Safety Officers are accessible and friendly, and safe ride is always a good option for a late night pick up/drop off to avoid walking home alone. As far as health, I have always been treated quickly and well at the health center.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
