Palladium and Kimmel are the best dining halls at NYU.

Students often have problems with logging in to computers and sometimes even require getting their password reset in order to log in to the system. Printing from computers is often difficult and the computers may be temperamental. It is often difficult to find available computers at the school as well.

I would do it again, but the only problem is the cost. NYU is a private institute and while it is a fantastic school, it is a brand name school (you pay for the networking and name on your resume).

I'm in a public relations program. I enjoy it because my professors are all working professionals that teach in their spare time--this means great recommendations and networking relationships. Most professors are happy to assist students in finding internships/jobs that fit their fields. Workload is normal--lots of a reading.

I have to have two letters of recommendations, a solid GPA, a GRE score, writing samples, and letter of interest. I heard back pretty quickly--two weeks, I think. Because I'm in a graduate program, work experience was very important. A solid GPA is always helpful. Tips: Apply early.

Most internships aren't paid and require course credit. There are some that are paid, but they are rare and very competitive--mostly with big organizations like NBC. Time commitments vary by season: spring is around 20+ hours and most summer internships are full time.

Health & Safety:
Some parents don't feel like their child will be safe in the city, but we have a bunch of security and I feel very safe because of it. We also have a health center available for students who do not feel well.

It's located in the city that never sleeps. There's always something to do even on weeknights if you don't have class the next day.

C means average and that's pretty much how the weather is. November to March is pretty cold, but we get a good chunk off for Winter break so it's bearable. Only at the very beginning and very end of school is it a little warm. Many students are from warmer areas, and they've adjusted fine. Just wear a lot of layers!

There are many of international students as well as American students with varying ethnicities. With that being said, there are few African Americans.

I know people that pledged this semester and they love it, but Greek life isn't as big at NYU as it is at schools that I know that have actual campuses.

Like at any college there are drugs and alcohol present amongst the students, but it's really up to you how much you would like to partake.

In New York City the number of off campus dining options are infinite. The types of food and the cost varies. New York City has everything there is to offer. There are several places around the NYU area that offer discounts for students and even allow students to pay with their NYU Campus Cash.

Health & Safety:
I think that the measures taken by NYU to keep students safe and healthy at NYU are outstanding. The NYU ID card is basically your ticket around campus: it allows you entry to all NYU buildings, and unless you do not live in campus housing, an NYU ID lets you in to all of the dorms. The NYU safety officiers are very nice, but they do have a job, so do not expect to get away with leaving your ID at home. New York in general has a lot of police because of the size of the city, so as a student I have always felt very safe walking around, or in my own dorm building. There is a really great shuttle service that NYU offers as well. Say you are walking around, it's late, and you are getting a bit lost. Well, just call NYU's safety shuttle service, and an officer will come get you in a van and take you back to your dorm. NYU really does a wonderful job at ensuring students' safety.

NYU offers a really wonderful array of dining options. There are always vegetarian and vegan options. One dining hall even has a special seating section strictly for Kosher students. I also think that most of the food served is healthy and students can make good choices about what to eat. The dining halls also open early and close late, so there is a lot of choice given to students about when to eat too. I will say that depending on what or how much you eat, the value that NYU gives their meals is a bit pricey. I would suggest a flex meal plan if you are unsure about how much you will be eating at the dining hall, and are looking to save money.

Coming from the west coast, and a state that gets a lot of rain, I would say that when it rains in NYC, it really rains. However NYC is very seasonal, so there is a lot of wonderful sunshine, some snow, and some overcast days. But I really love the weather here because of how often it is sunny. Even in the winter, walking around campus is great with the chill of the air reminding you that winter is still the chilly season we all know and love, while the sun offers a nice, and cheery contrast.

Guys & Girls:
NYU students are just as diverse as the city itself. There are students from all around the globe, so as one might imagine there is a lot to explore in terms of social connections. However, everyone is very friendly, and because the school is fairly large, everyone is looking for more and more friends to share a great time with. The stylish flair of the city certainly attracts some, but the excitement and thrill of New York City is reflected in both the guys and girls here.

There is a lot of liberal bias. If you are a are conservative at all in any way, then you should plan on keeping it a secret or your grade will probably suffer. With that said, the academics are great depending on the teacher. Most teachers genuinely want you to learn and do well at NYU. I mean, it is NYU, isn't it? I would be concerned if the academics weren't great.

You have to have a fake id. If you do not have a fake id then say hello netflix and every night will be a night in for you. Once your get burnt out from the clubs after freshman year, then you will find tons of awesome bars and more of your friends will have apartments you can have kickbacks at.

Guys & Girls:
It is mostly jewish guys/girls and asian guys/girls. if you are in to that then that's great! but if you aren't looking for that then you may want to look off campus for someone to date. Because of the exceptionally large number of girls, guys figure out really quick that they can hook up with pretty much whoever they want due to how desperate girls become due to the lack of guys, so most guys are only down to hook up.

It's New York City. So many restaurants around school. You can get any type of food that you want and it will not break your budget. However, if you do want to go somewhere nice there are so many places that are a quick train ride away.

New York City experiences all types of weather. Summers get very hot and humid, falls are chilly, winters are bitter cold, and springs are temperate. You need a good rain jacket since walking is the main method of transportation.

I received no financial aid but I did receive loans. The office was reluctant to give us any consideration and were not easy to deal with.
