MS in Publishing – The NYU-SCPS MS in Publishing program is exceptional. Not only is each class tailored to the specific needs of the students, classes are kept small so as to best facilitate learning. Instructors are all industry professionals and students are given prime networking opportunities within the publishing industry that they would not have otherwise should they purused an alternate post graduate program.

Great Instructors – NYU has the most amazing professors. The professors care a lot about the students and there are many outlets to get extra help. I am studying economics and feel that my program is more advanced than many other programs around the country.

NEW YORK CITY – Off-Campus Dining is incredible. THere are thousands and thousands of restaurants to choose from in NYC and you can have basically anything delivered to you.

Great Experience – It takes a certain type of person to attend NYU. It is really part of the city, which is amazing.
The professors are incredible. I have made lasting relationships with most of my professors and they have taught me more than I expected. All of my professors have terminal degrees in their fields.
It can be difficult to make friends, but it becomes easy when you get involved in clubs or dorm activities.

Basically Nonexistent – parking in the city is impossible as it is, and even on the rare occasion that you do find parking, chances are you'll be returning every two hours to fill the muni-meter.

It's NYC of course it will be hard to find parking.

Nice Apartments in the Area – There are really nice apartments in the area that allow you to work and feel free. Shopping can be done at all hours, great restaurants surround the neighborhood.
Rent is high, but that is not a surprise in NYC

Dorm Is Another Story. The campus isn't a big deal but the dorms are pretty tightly guarded.

The Extremems – It's nice in the fall and Spring but Summer and Winter are pretty extreme.
College Junior 2012-08-09T00:55:06Z
Pros and Cons – The food is pretty good and you get a lot of options. You get tired of the food eventually (as do college students across the nation) but there are 7 Dining Halls (which usually have tons of options-Kosher, Vegan, Indian,....) here to choose from. Much better chance of liking food than you will often get at another college that say has 1 Dining Hall.

You're Have a Good Bet With Any Major You Choose Here – The people here are diverse but the majors they choose are just as diverse-Econ, Creative Writing, Engineering, Musical Theater,....
Just know that if you want to change majors you will have to apply to the school that has that major which can be really tough (especially for the Stern School of Business and Tisch School of Performing Arts). Internal transfers won't always be easy. What can you do? Everyone who attends NYU is pretty talented.

Most of the labs here are equipped with Mac computers with really big screens. So excellent that I'll often use them even if I brought my own laptop already. But, then you might go to another lab that has really, REALLY slow computers.
The computer labs do get crowded in the 15 min between classes (when people are trying to print papers and do last minute touch ups). There are often waiting lines to use computers during these periods. The crowding is big around finals and midterms naturally but even then you can find space.

NYU has an extremely diverse student body in all its schools.

I like that you get to really feel all 4 seasons. If you're not a fan of humidity get out of NYC for the Summer!

Great School!!! It's a great school but EXPENSIVE :( and living in NYC adds extra expenses to the already high tuition price...

I am new to the school but I have yet to come across any invitations to any sporting events. Nor have I ever seen any teams practicing. The school is so big I dont even notice we have any teams

It's Everywhere – Greek life is all over campus, but it was nothing like expected. They're extremely friendly and have bonds that last a lifetime.

Kosher Food ! The kosher menu changes on a daily basis with a lot of options. It's always freshly cooked and served with a smile :)

Great Bio Department – NYU has a great Bio department. there are many caring professors and advisors to guide you through the path.

Its Great Here – I love NYU. It's diversity makes it so unique. However, its pretty intense, so you should be prepared to really put a lot of effort in your academics.

Multiple Computer Labs, and Apple Products – There is WiFi all over campus. Apple products are common, and multiple computer labs that will satisfy last minute work and printouts. However, printing stations can get very crowded during midterms and finals!

You Are Going to School in the City That Never Sleeps. underage nightlife isn't clearly as abundant as for the 21+ students, but there are clearly A LOT to do. There are a student center that offers plenty activities for students are lacking social connections to find where the fun is at. There are bars all over campus, and clubs like Pacha only a few minutes away on the subway.
However, these are not "traditional" college parties. These are NY parties.

Warnings Are Clear – I have ever been in conflict with much if any of NYU's school policies. However, like anyone else in the city, enforcers have little patience for horseplay.

Everyone is busy. There is such a diversity people everywhere you turn your head and there is so much activity. Love the atmosphere of people and active energy.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
