It Takes Time – The film major at NYU can be intimidating, but stick with it. Once you get over your fears, you actually begin to enjoy yourself.

Drinking Is Popular in NYC – With bars, clubs, and pubs abound, students have a lot of choices as far as drinking goes. NYU does crack down on underage drinking at the Freshman Residence Halls, upperclassmen (anyone not a freshman) are allowed greater leeway into drinking on campus and in the dorms. Drugs are also used as well, although alcohol is the most common type used.

Guys & Girls:
Girls Are Everywhere – With NYC as your "campus," students at NYU aren't only limited to the dating scene at the school, but essentially have people from all walks of life and all ethnicities at their doorstep. The girls at NYU range from everything you can possibly think of. Great school with some great people. I love it here!

NYU has a variety of activities for students whether it be sport tae kwon do to the chess club. Opportunities for research are definitely present. Food is also great. Living in the city is an amazing experience in and of itself, but with NYU's tuition being one of the highest in the country, you may find yourself second guessing your decision to attend NYU at times.

You could easily spend tons of money on food in the city, but there are ways to eat cheap as well. Especially around campus, many restaurants and cafes take campus cash, or have cheaper meals which is a plus!

New York is one of the most fun cities in the world! There are always things happening- shows, parties, street fairs, concerts, museum exhibits. Not to mention the thousands of restaurants all over. There are also yoga studios every few blocks, tons of shopping, and New Yorkers aren't as mean as people believe!

Registration is extremely stressful. We have tons of options for classes, which is really convenient. However, when it is time to register, classes close so quickly, I have to make many alternate schedules in case certain classes are closed. Also, because there are so many lectures, you have to factor in all of the recitations as well, which makes things more complicated. The advisors aren't very helpful when it comes to planning specific schedules; they pretty much leave it all up to us, which is overwhelming.

I have enjoyed all of my Psychology courses. The professors are very knowledgeable, as well as the Teaching Assistants. Some of their research has appeared in the textbooks we use. My advisor is helpful and willing to talk about many options and paths within my major. Also, there is a good range of possible classes to take to fulfill the requirements.

Study Abroad – NYU has an amazing study abroad program. We have 11 different sites all around the world and are building more. Because we have so many options, it is strongly encouraged for us to go abroad and receive a more global education. Not many of my friends at other schools have such easy access to education abroad.

I Think That They Are Very Excellent – I have attended a series of games that were hosted by the NYU Athtletic Department against other colleges. One observation that I have of them is that they are very competent and, most times, show several days of training and practice. Overall, they are very committed. On another note, I like to their games because they give priceless foods and T-shirts.

Very Strict – We have a very good station, here, at Washington Square, which is also known as the main segment of Greenwich village. The crime rates are very lower and our security patrol or officers are very hardworking. There are NYU owned buses that brings students to selected destination, especially during the night-time.

Gallatin is great, though I'm more interested in Business so I may go to Stern

Many Dining Halls – The best part about campus dining is that there are about 5 dining halls around campus. Some are large and much bigger than others with more options. The is a good variety of food and the quality is pretty good.

Variety, but You Have to Find Your Own Niche – The diversity at NYU can be seen through the various clubs and student organizations active on campus. However, there is indeed a large Asian student population, specifically in Stern. Walking I campus you can hear a lot of different languages beig spoken. NYU is very accepting of every individual and embraces diversity. The only thing that might not be as diverse is the economic background of the students. Since the university is fairly expensive, most students are upper middle class or higher. Despite this, the opportunities to meet a variety of people are inescapable, and rightly so at NYU.

You'll Love It – If you are not looking for an average college experience with football games and frat parties, NYU is definitely for you. It's a wonderful liberal arts experience in a major city. Experience obviously depends on your school and major. It's perfect if you are someone who craves independence and culture.
College Senior 2012-07-10T18:28:37Z
Weed Is More Popular – There's a lot of weed at NYU. It's the city, and people can easily get a hold of it. But I don't see a lot of danger involved with this scene.

The Library is huge! It looks like Hogwarts. The librarians are also so nice and willing to help you with your research.

All the Same – The food everywhere is the same. I felt like I ate the same things over and over again. Also, meal plans are way over-priced.

Get Ready to Be Written up – The dorm life is great, but you have to keep it quiet because you're almost guaranteed to get written up if you're not.

Wander in Any Direction – And you will find anything and everything you could ever crave. Italian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai and many price points as well. Competition is intense in the city since there are so many restaurants, so even "cheap" restaurants are better than most "moderate" restaurants in other cities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
