The Fun Is Never Ending – New York CIty is a huge city, with loads to do. There are clubs and bars for people who like to party, museums and galleries for people who like the arts, and the Yankees and Knicks for people who like sports. What more can you ask for. And, don't forget Broadway. It is truly the best city ever!

Subway Is the Best Option – The Subway is great in New York City, and the NYU campus is quite close to several entrances. The trains are running all the time and are very convenient. THey will get you where you need to go faster than any other mode of transportation in NYC. Also, they are inexpensive, and you can reload your card right in the station.

Seeing as NYU doesn't have a traditional campus, it is without a proper parking lot for students or faculty use. Street parking, therefore, depends on how many people are in the Greenwich Village at any given time. Given that this is New York City... there are always people in the village. Lots of them.

The Societies – A thing you often hear concerning New York University is its lack of school spirit and community. What those people don't know, or aren't letting on about, is that there are numerous clubs, organizations, and societies which create plenty of tightly knit communities within the umbrella of NYU.
Some of these societies are well known and high profile, others are less so. Some have long and storied histories, and others are complete mysteries. Once thing is for certain: if you are a student of merit and moral character, you may be tapped before you know it, and when that day comes... a community like you have never imagined will be awaiting you.

I am not into sports, so I really can't rate this school.

Could Have Been Better – I recieved all the loans I needed to go to school, but I wish there had been more scholarship money. I had and have great grades, a lot of community service but I am middle class and my parents both work. We don't have a lot but that seemed not to matter.

I grew up in a suburb and I find the city fascinating and exciting. There is always something to do and you can find deals almost all the time. There are a lot of cultural activities, social, and just plain fun. The show, the attractions and the city parks are well worth the time to see them

First Semester – This is my first semester so I have not started any internships yet but they are usually industry internships and have proven fruitful for past graduates.

Sports Business – The professors are the best of the best, and all industry professionals. They have great connections and are more than willing to help students.

Not That Strict – NYU is pretty lenient, academically and socially (unless you get caught doing something illegal in your dorm room).

I have just transferred from College of Arts and Sciences to Gallatin within NYU. Gallatin is a college of individualized studies. Basically you make your own major and curriculum according to your concentration. Gallatin students have access to most of the other courses in other colleges within NYU as well as their own.

Health & Safety:
NYC is pretty dangerous and although NYU's campus can even barely be called one, I feel relatively safe when I am on campus. I have walked back to my dorm on 10th and 5th from the school library around 3 to 4 A.M on numerous occasions without feeling threatened for my life. There are also safe rides that gives you rides from school building to school building.
I do have concerns for theft. My friends have lost many valuables including iPhones, computers, etc from within their own dorm room.

My friend's parents are advising her to live off-campus for NYU. She and I concur that it would be an extremely poor decision to live off-campus as a freshman. A large portion of what makes NYU unique is that the students go to sleep and wake up in New York City. Commuting into the city takes away what makes NYU, NYU. If you wish to seek housing off campus but remaining in Manhattan, then that is an option to consider. However, it can possibly restrict one's social life

College Life in the "Big Apple" – New York University is centralized in the heart of downtown New York City. Considered to be the largest private research university in the United States, NYU is completely influence by the city in which the campus lies. The culture and diversity of New York City cannot be compared to any other city in the world. Students at NYU are revealed to a whole other world outside of their hometowns. They can spend an afternoon embracing the culture of Chinatown and conclude with an evening dinner in Little Italy. The possibilities of being exposed to every culture in the world are endless.

Variety of Choices – There are many options around campus. You can choose traditional dorm style or eat cafe city restaurnat style. You have about 100 options to choose from on and around campus. Just pick your favorite.

yeah. there isn't one. unless your definition of football is soccer. and there isn't one of those either. think of the least sweaty sport, there is probably a team for that. I think fencing is really big at the school, but I would not know. I know we are d3 in basketball. I guess people might be into that. the girls team is way better than the boys team. the only reason i went to games was to get free food because i was poor and hungry. in closing, if you are into sports have no fear, you can go to a knicks, giants, jets, mets, or yankees game. be grateful.

Diverse but Not What You Think – NYU is probably the only school in America which is accepting of just about anyone. The great thing about the school is that it covers just about every interest anyone could have, and once you find that environment, you will be set for your entire stay. There are people from all walks of life and it is a beautiful thing to behold. However there is a strong lack of African-American representation. The school probably gets its diversity numbers from all of the other races such as east asian and south east asian, but if you are black, don't be fooled by those numbers. There is a strong lack of African-American recruitment to begin with, and the school is expensive on top of that. So I feel that even if blacks do get in, they probably end up going to a school which offers a more comprehensive scholarship/financial aid package.

As Safe as You Could Be in a City – NYU's environment was very safe. The buildings were secure and the area around washington square park was quite safe, even at night. There were always people around so I never felt like I could be victimized and not have anyone know it. However being a city campus there were the occasional unavoidable encounters with crime. I feel those instances had more to do with being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I for one was never a victim of crime during my tenure at the school.

My overall experience at NYU is favorable. There is a lot to learn and a lot to do. You just have to remember which one comes first.
College Junior 2012-04-16T22:39:22Z
NYU definitely has a nightlife. Given the city the school is in, there is always somewhere to go and something to do.

The computers at school are moderately up-to-date and can handle what's being required of them.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
