I think what separates my school from the rest is the fact that the city is our campus. There are so many resources available to us and even though the tuition is very expensive every penny is worth it because you truly get everything you can out of it.

Amazing Transportation – Transportation is amazing since we are in the heart of Greenwich village. There are train stations every where and most leave you a few blocks from your dorm also the NYU buses available help since not only are they free but they are safe and trusted.

Pretty Good If You're Middle Class – I definitely got a lot of aid compared to some of my friends, a few of which had to take a year off to work or transferred. I also have a substantial academic scholarship, which helped a lot. All in all, it never hurts to fill out the FAFSA, and apply to outside scholarships as much as you can.

Love It – I would never imagine myself anywhere else, though I do sometimes wish it had more of the campus feel (if only for the partying, because I love frat parties). It's so easy for anyone to find their scene here. Just being in the city is awesome too; you can go shopping any time (not so good for my bank account), and easy to find a place to study. If you study well in student lounges, there are plenty of those, and if you like cafes, there are tons of tiny little places with great music and a relaxing vibe. And the food!! You can get any kind of food you want within a 20 minute walk, or take the subway if it's mid or uptown. Plus it's the city! I always have friends from home visiting, and there's never a lack of things to do.

Take Advantage! I'm a psych major, and I LOVE it! The department is pretty huge, and I have quite a few friends in it, which doesn't hurt. It's a lot of work (reading mostly) but definitely worth it. There are a lot of opportunities at the Wasserman Center for jobs and internships, or just for advice.
There is a study requirement for psych classes, which means you go in on your free time to help out people doing research in psych. Some of the studies are pretty interesting, and it's not hard at all to complete the number of hours required.
You definitely have to study a lot for psych classes, but I find that I always have plenty of time, granted I don't procrastinate. All in all, I love NYU because I have friends within and outside my program; many of friends are Tisch film or dance students; I feel that I have such a diverse group of friends.
The psych professors are all great, and really smart. They're all really approachable too!

Not Bad at All – This is New York City after all. The weather has its fluctuations, but for the most part it is not too bad for a little Hawaii girl like me.

Just Plain Mediocre – Though we have so many options at NYU, they are not that satisfying in the actual dining halls. I like though that we are able to use meals at leading places like Starbucks, Chik-Fil-A, and Argo Tea.

Variety of Classes to Choose from – New York University has so many options. I am able to choose from a plethora of classes of interest, especially in my intended major and minor.

Gallatin School of Individualized Study – Gallatin is a very interesting program that not too many universities offer. It gives you to chance to create your own concentration in college by combining classes from any part of the university. I am studying publishing, so I am taking half business and marketing classes and half writing classes with a high focus on the editing process. Gallatin offers the most interesting courses at the university by combining different subjects and studying them together. The only downfall of the program is that when you graduate, your diploma will not say that you majored in anything, but rather that you concentrated in an area of study (a word that generally is not seen on work resumes).

Whether you live a few minutes from campus or out in New Jersey, transportation is readily available. The MTA and New Jersey Transit are always there and trains run every few minutes. Although that can be costly, you never have to worry about getting somewhere. There are also free NYU buses that run from some of the residence halls that are further away. They run about every ten minutes. These buses are wonderful; many students rely on them every day.

NYU is located in the middle of New York City. Naturally, no students come to school with cars, and if they do, it is up to them to pay the high costs of parking their cars in the middle of the city. Generally though, it is understood that the danger of driving in the city and the outrageous parking prices simply aren't worth it.

The Subway and Walking – NYC public transportation is amazing. And all the walking you do is great, too, as it keeps you moving and allows you to be out on the stimulating street.

The Best! Being in college in New York City offers the widest array of possibility. I can't imagine having studied anywhere else. Anything you're interested in is happening in the city.

Food Everywhere – There are more than ten dining halls on campus, with Kosher and Vegan options, and the occasional themed meal. Many local vendors also accept "Campus Cash," making it easy to get food anywhere.

The Campus on the Park – There is a wonderful, centrally located Library that looks out onto Washington Square Park and has endless resources. There is a sports center on one side of campus and another gym in a dorm on the opposite side. Most of the main academic buildings are centered around Washington Square Park, as are most resource centers. It's very convenient to get to any places that need to be gotten to!

NYU is a school that caters to the students. Whatever you want to do, you can do it here. NYU is your leader and New York City is your playground. I have had some amazing experiences here, from famous celebrities in class lecturing to witnessing Occupy Wall Street in front of my classroom. You are truly limitless here.

New York City – NYU is the best place if you want real nightlife. You're in NYC and you can literally do WHATEVER you want. bars, clubs, raves, concerts, Hookah, lounges, etc. If you want it, its here.

School Spirit – NYU is NOT a typical college. The campus is spread throughout downtown NYC. There is definitely a feeling of pride for attending NYU, but it is more for the individual. School spirit comes from a group of friends triumphing on a midterm or from having Steve Forbes speak in a lecture, not from sports games or campus events.

Guys & Girls:
Take Your Pick – I played sports at a DI undergrad school. NYU is not a school devoted to athletics or frats, therefore, one is lacking in the "jock" and "frat" types and sorority women. If you look hard enough, you can find something befitting for all wants. What is truly attractive is that attending NYU is not just a continuation of high school groups, cliques, and structuring. So, for many, academia and personal growth flourish. And the city is at your finger tips, so access to others who are not students proves easy and interesting.

NYU in located in NYC, but that being said, if one just huddles in The Village they are surrounded by one demographic. If they venture out of Williamsburg and the Village, they will experience just about every kind of diversity possible except rural or agricultural.

Athletic Centers – The options are endless. There is Chelsea Piers, Crunch, the on campus gym, dance classes/studios, workouts in Central Park, sailing on the river, intramural team sports - it is just awesome.

It's NYC! Probably the best off-campus food since NYU is located in downtown NYC. Foodies should definitely take advantage of Restaurant Week for a taste of upscale dining. St. Mark's is always a great street nearby for almost any type of food.

Mostly Weed – Lots of people smoke, but more often people want to go out in the city, and that means drinking

Too Many to Count – Seriously, so many places, so many kinds of food, open late, student prices. Of course NYC can get pricey, but there's something for anyone from street food to fine dining
Sorry, there are no reviews.
