School Spirit
Although sports are not a big school spirit factor, students are definitely proud of the NYU name. This is evident in the multitude of NYU-emblazoned T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and hats that they wear to class each day (either that, or they just are constantly out of clean laundry). Students in each school at NYU have their own particular brand of pride, many of them thinking that their school is the best. At the beginning of each school year, Coles Sports Center hosts a competition between all of the NYU schools to see who has the most athletic prowess. Events include volleyball, basketball, pingpong, and foosball.
Getting Tickets
In the world of NYU sports, they just want you to be there and cheer, so tickets are either free or nonexistent.
Best Place to Take a Walk
New York City's famous Central Park is perfect for walking, running, biking, or rollerblading, especially in the fall and spring months when the foliage is breathtaking (and these are probably some of the only trees you will see in large groups in the city). Van Cortlandt Park is another option, with plenty of wooded trails and hills for running.
Did You Know?
There are monthly sports rallies where you can eat all of the pizza you want, get free T-shirts, have fun, and meet new people.
