Which one is cheaper?
NYU takes pride in saying that every room has it's own bathroom but since they can no longer accomodate that they've taken to giving a private bathroom to every suite. which often means 4 people, but occasionally, as happened to me freshman year in 3rd North dorm, you get the "loft floor" which had 13 girls with 3 small bathrooms (5 toilettes, 5 sinks, 4 showers). since 13 of us shared them I wouldn't really call that private. Also our floor was divided into two halls; 5 on one side. 8 on the other. the side with 5 had 2 bathrooms (2 showers, 3 toilettes) and the side with 8 girls had one bathroom (2 showers, 2 toilettes). All in all not ideal although we had a huge common room and kitchen (though that also proved to be a curse when no one cleaned it). This situation is atypical but possible.
can you live outside of campus as a freshman attending?
That's seems really interesting, how the upperclassmen dorms are like hotels/apartment buildings!
How much for the room?
