NYU facilities are in and of the city, which means they are a mix of historic and cutting edge. Many buildings are just old, and consequently, many facilities aren’t perfect. They do, however, have that certain New York gritty-but-pretty charm. NYU is also finding money to renovate lots of buildings, including Third North residence hall, the journalism building, and the Gallatin building. In general, classrooms, common spaces, and especially elevators can be crowded—being surrounded by people is the NYU and NYC way of life.
Overall, NYU's school board has been making a significant effort to renovate old structures, and the school does a good job in terms of ensuring that facilities needed by students are readily available.
