There is one thing that all NYU students seem to agree on: New York City has a wide selection of dining options that are sure to please even the rarest tastes. From Italian to Thai, to a restaurant that boasts an all-peanut butter menu, if you want it, you can have it in NYC. Students dine in the Village and Union Square when they want great food close to campus, and other popular favorites include downtown at Mulberry Street (Little Italy) and Chinatown. Even if you made it your life mission, you could never eat at all the restaurants in NYC. Options range from Halal street carts to 24-hour diners to five-star formal affairs—there are always more than enough choices. Some students choose to try new places every day, sampling the city’s selection, others choose to become regulars and stick to their favorite spots. One thing is sure, eating in NYC is always an adventure. With new places opening left and right, there are always new surprises to be had.

Delicious! Okay, so it is New York City, and you have a limitless number of options. There are plenty of strictly vegan places, too. But seriously, everything is so good. I especially recommend Max Brenner, Veselka, and Silver Spurs. Oren's is great for coffee. Wow, I could go on pretty much forever.

There are so many restaurants off campus that it's mind boggling. A bunch of them are within a decent distance of campus, and thus keep rates affordable. The area is filled with great restaurants and great night life.

Restaurants off campus are generally pricey since it is NYC, but there are a few good, moderately priced restaurants nearby. Spice Thai restaurant is fantastic and cheap. Also down MacDougal Street, there are many cheap pizza joints and falafel stands.
