How to Get to the Airport

  • Airport van service, like Super Shuttle. Cabs have a flat rate, but if you're worried about catching one, call a car service or the shuttle. Take the subway only if you're willing to waste two hours and haul your luggage around.

College Prowler Take

New York City’s public transportation system gets plenty of praise from NYU students. Students say subways are the easiest and cheapest way to get around, since they never have to deal with NYC traffic, like with buses and taxis. In fact, many people buy monthly subway passes so that they can use the subways not only to commute to class but also whenever they need to get around the city.

You may, at first, be intimidated by the intricacy of the subway maps, but once you learn the routes, you’ll feel like a pro. The public transportation in New York City is so convenient, there’s no need for a car. Bikes are also a great option—they’re free of charge, and there are plenty of places to chain them on campus.

Subway puts entire city at your disposal

A-

There is a subway stop right next to NYU and about three others in easy walking distance. Once you ride a few times, the subway is easy enough to navigate. Use it - it puts the entire city at your disposal.

I would recommend the monthly subway passes if you live too far away to walk. NYU buses are insanely unreliable.

Public transportation is amazing in NYC! The subway is cheap and easy to figure out, along with buses running all the time. If you are in a real rush, cab fares are cheap when splitting between a few people.
