Interviews & Information Sessions

Your visit to New York University will start with an information session which is led by a member of the Admissions Committee. Information Sessions are a great way to learn about NYU. The information session is an hour-long group meeting designed to answer your questions about admission requirements, research opportunities, internships, double majors, on-campus housing, application deadlines—anything you want to know about NYU. Group information sessions are typically available Monday through Friday. During the fall, NYU holds information sessions and tours on select weekends. After the information session, plan on taking a campus tour led by an Admissions Ambassador. The tour will include Washington Mews, classroom facilities, a residence hall, many of NYU’s student support services, the Bobst Library, and the Coles Athletic Center. The tour will last one hour. Reservations are required for an information session or tour. To arrange a visit, go to the On-Campus Information Session and Tours Section of the online Admissions Office page or call (212) 998-4524. It's best to schedule tours several weeks in advance.

Prospective Weekend

Open House Programs NYU hosts a number of Open House programs on campus. These are your best opportunities to visit and receive an in depth look at what NYU has to offer you. You will have access to more than just the admissions office. Typically, faculty, student life officers, current students, and the deans of our colleges attend all open house programs. Class Visits Each fall and spring, students are welcome to come and visit NYU classes. Class visits are offered Monday through Thursday. Simply stop by the admissions office while you are on campus to see a list of classes open for visitation. Off-Campus Receptions NYU representatives visit all over the country during the fall and spring. These programs are hosted by a member of the Admissions Committee and typically include a current student’s perspective on life at NYU.

Overnight Visits

NYU does not organize overnight visits, due to their large volume of campus visitors each year (roughly 60,000 students), but if you have a friend of family member that attends the school, it is possible to stay overnight with them in their dorm. Transfer students can take advantage of NYU’s Transfer Information Session and Tour.
